Updated my M3 '15 (with enabled auto doors lock via CANbus hack) to 59.xxx.443 with no problems. CMU seems to boot faster now, just 2-3 secs to warning message. Start from hibernation mode applied?

EU_59.00.443C update results

Hi,
I successfully updated my mazda 2 to EU_59.00.443C. Here is my impression:

No visible changes from the previous version, except for the Bluetooth icon.
Shuffling the music tracks works better.
Navigation works OK.
Boot and response time are the same.
i did not reset my device before , so all my favorites are kept (except for bluetooth, i unpaired my phone).
I paired my phone but i did not place a phone call yet , i do not know how is the sound quality.
My CMU was recently replaced because of WiFi problems , under warranty. This made my unit function better while connectiong to my Iphone.

Good luck to all upgraders,

Thanks so much for the information.
At the moment I'm pretty satisfied of version 56, i'll upgrade the CMU right for the personal desire to have the latest version possible.
Are better, in your opinion, to wait for a new version with AA/CarPlay?
While I can't yet confirm I believe it will be mandatory to have 'a' version of 59 installed first if Mazda goes down the CP AA path, and they will, I hope current owners will and can upgrade, what concerns me is Apple, they are not terribly licence friendly for free.(open).

Seriously? I cant mention every country in Europe, and Yes the Netherlands uses EU firmware.:surprise:
Might have been easier then to just mention EU = European Countries
And not include some of them, except for the tricky ones like Russia or the UK ( Brexit)

But thanks for confirming it

What do you mean by that?

History of CMU Firmware...

First version were CMU140 (format), this was ONLY installed in BM Mazda 3 (before other new models got Connect)
Second Versions were CMU150, to use this latest Firmware you must do the 2 stage update if you owned a BM Mazda 3 with Firmware (CMU140) below 31.

Current Versions 59 are still CMU150, But are installed/allocated slightly differently to earlier 50's firmware (like 52, 55 and 56).

I believe next version (with CP and AA) will be CMU160, and to install CMU160 you must have V59 as a minimum.

So as an example (a early Mazda 3) if you were still on version 29 you will need to do a 3 stage update to get to
CMU160. Install version 31.00.100A, then 59.00.441A, then 6x.00.xxxx.

If you have say a Mazda CX-3 with version 56.00.513C out of factory then you have to do a 2 stage update to install version 6x.00.xxxx, that is 59.00.441A or 443C and then whenever it is coming CMU160_NA_6x.00.xxxx (example).

Basically if you are already using a 55 or 56 you will have to install a 59 before you can install the rumoured 60 with CP and AA....That is IF Apple and Mazda permit existing owners to upgrade to use CP (AA is open and not a problem)....just my views.

Ok, i understand you.

My CX-5 came with 51.00.xxx but dealer change my CMU due wifi issue and new cmu cames with 56.00.513B and now i update it 59.00.443C.

I not sure if 56.00.513B came installed un cmu or my dealer update it.

Can i have problem to use and install (if is) CP and AA?

No no problems at all.

But nobody (including me) knows exactly when MMC will install CP and IF they will make it available to existing owners. We know CP is in new China made for China only Mazda 6.

My personal opinion is what I have been told by my many Mazda contacts.

I believe we will see CP in the new KF Mazda CX-5 out in a few months time, I think production starts in March.

Anyway..:smile2:

EU_59.00.443C ok on a 2016 Mazda3

Just finished installing EU_59.00.443C on my 2016 Mazda3 (up from v56): everything went smoothly, took about 50'.

The only noticeable difference I could find is the now much faster scrolling speed when going through a long list of albums/artists/songs, which is nice.

Hi, I'm going to try to update ... to see if it works for me.

One question, it can be updated from any version, no?, if it gives some type of error, it can be backwards?

Black screen after installation EU_59.00.443C on CX-5

Hi
I did the updates several times in the past without any trouble but now i got a blank screen after a succesfull installation of the failsafe.up.
Tweaks are not installed.
The check of of the reinstall.up failed so i had to get an new copy onto my USB Stick.

Just to make shure i have the correct understanding of the recovery procedure explainend on page 1

*PRESS Down on Commander Black Knob ONCE. ----> Means just press Down the Command Knob, right?
*SLIDE-PUSH move Commander Knob 6 times to the Right. ----> Do i have to press anything or just moving the Knob to the right?

Regards

Edmund

Hello, have my CMU (Mazda 2Dj Connect) at Udate shot (black screen), can someone tell me what the exchange costs? Had only Failsave strike up and after restart black screen.

Can you try to use this script over your blank screen MZD? I need someone check it out.

https://mega.nz/#!pMEC0bwC!gpcCMHTEcD8Ku-gLfzRbnLsANRnX25CO_AZCHq7aunU

This script runs factory_reset.sh from jci/scripts directory.
Thanks
