I have successfully upgraded from version 56.00.513B to 59.00.443C.

Only had "enable touch screen while moving" tweak and some ASbuilt changes before the upgrade.

The touch screen tweak keept enabled after the upgrade. No need to reaply the tweak.

The upgrade took about 45 min to complete. System seems to be faster overall. Navi route calcs are faster, also the music player changes tracks without any delay.

If you want you can load/use EU and will work fine, obviously you wont have the same range of languages.

In fact now the only difference between EU and ADR are the different language packs for the different countries, both have English.

Has someone tried this before?

And thanks for the reply

OK Guys, seriously I can't comment on every tweak someone may have done or may not have done, this thread is only for OEM installs and OEM Tweaks (like Speed Toggle), there are just too many variants of hacks and tweaks and what an owner may or may not have installed like AA or Cast-screen or what is the main cause of black screen or the equipment you use...

This is WHY I strongly recommend you do a factory reset BEFORE you do update of V59, and remove all your 'system' hack tweaks if you have them.
Yes some have left them installed and all is fine after upgrade for them and others run into problems, but like I said the lack of information from owners with problems does not help for a solution, there are just too many unknowns to pinpoint the exact cause....like..

What version are you updating from V56, or 55 or 52 or 29.?
What country firmware are you installing or already have installed, EU, ADR or NA?
Is your system standard OEM with no Tweaks?
What PC are you using, windows, mac, or other.
What USB stick (type) are you using and what format, and what size, how clean or how new.?
Have you verified each file size (KB) on the Drive while still attached (view-able) on your PC?
Did you remove SD Card (Navigation) BEFORE update and while car is turned off?
Did you update while engine is OFF (not running), a must do.
Did you check to see if there were any DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) and did you clear them FIRST?
Are you pressing clutch and or brake pedal to stop CMU from going to sleep every 20 minutes?
As updates average about 60 minutes (1 hour) then the clutch and or brake pedal should be pressed down at least 2 times, even 3 times, it is critical that the CMU does not turn off.
There is NO RESTARTING of CMU after failsafe is installed you should see "Install Successful" "NO REBOOT REQUIRED" and then "OK", just press/touch OK.
Then you then go back and repeat to the TEST SCREEN Mode to install Re-Install .UP file.

I don't have MD5 as it is/was not supplied, I use Windows systems and so does Mazda, the KB file Size are listed and are what the 'viewed size' of each file must be AFTER installed on your 2.0 USB Stick/Flash Drive.
MD5 was listed by a user a few pages back and was confirmed by others and appears 100% correct and worked for them, have a look back here.

IF you download from MEGA as .UP files ONLY and do not compress.
Just download ONE file at a time (double click on each file description) and save to desktop, then Copy and Paste to your clean USB flash drive as is, DO NOT DRAG AND DROP.
Also DO NOT Download directly onto your flash drive.
Instructions are in Mazda official PDF on how to download and install and link is on Page 1 of this thread.

Instructions are not recommended for use with Apple/Mac PC's, I personally do not use Apple/Mac, and 99.9% of the auto industry diagnostics/repairs are a windows and internet explorer requirement only, PLEASE don't get into an argument about this (what PC Brand) it is not helpful.

Some guys have had no issues, one here had used the same V59 files on his two Mazda's separately (obviously) and all worked perfectly.

I get concerned when I hear of guys using flash drives with flashing LED's and large drives (32 and 64 GB) with other data installed on it, I can only suggest you do not use large flash drives, just use a cheap new simple small 2.0 thumb drive of 16 GB or even less, I use 8 GB (is perfect).
Clean with nothing else on it except the 2 latest .up files.

Watch the YT Video on page 1 here on how to install .UP files once on correct USB Flash Drive.

Hi, yes it was tried with V56 (EU 56 on a ADR 55 car/system) for English and all worked fine.

Therefore I have no reason to believe that EU_59.00.443C wont work in place of a ADR.
Just make sure your ADR is currently above version ADR_51.00.512.
While your engine and ACC is OFF remove SD Card.
DO NOT Start car to do update, only in ACC mode....see instructions.

As I have said the main differences now between EU and ADR are just the different languages.
Both have English (for UK), both have DAB and DAB+, AM/FM for Radio Tuners.

Yes, i tried this morning without success.
Anything else what i can do?
OK sorry to hear that, the point of the blind factory reset is to reboot system and screen.

OK try this one, open bonnet/hood and disconnect Negative battery terminal, leave off for 15 minutes, roughly, and also push your foot on brake pedal a few times to drain any residue power.

Reconnect terminal after the 10-15 minutes and start up system/car...anything happen.???

BTW: I can't remember what Mazda Model you have? and can you PM me your full VIN Number,
I may have some news which may help.
Also what Firmware version number did you have installed BEFORE you tried V59, can you remember?

56.000.513c
CX-5

will disconnect the battery as soon as my wife is back from shopping (can take a while)

Made a check on the MD5 Hash for both files, it's the same as mentioned in the forum. So they should be ok.

Can't send a PM because i've less then 15 Posts in this Forum

Thanks for your help.

Beside the updates done on tweaked firmwares, we have here people with untouched v56 that gets the black screen. How can this be without any changes on the original FW?
Did the users with black screen a reboot after finised failsafe installation or does they continue directly with the other file? Atm I can't see a pattern. It seems that it is coincidence if you have bad luck.

What Happens To Map Favourites

Sorry for basic question as I need to know before doing an update to the latest firmware. Do your favourites and route history get deleted or is it all stored on your map SD card anyway. I've got LOTS of favourites and route history.

Thanks

If you don't a factory reset, favourites and radio statios remain on system.
I updated without factory reset.

I did factory reset and all of above mentioned was resetted/deleted. Would be great to have a backup possibility of favorites, but I have not found a possibility to get them bachuped somehow.
I would assume a factory reset has exactly that reason - get rid of any personal data/setting - in principle I would use it before selling the car, new owner does not need any of MY data.

I disconnected the battery for more then 1 hour, nothing happend after that.
Same black screen as before.

The black screen is still there. I have tried everything including the disconnecting the battery. Then took it to the Mazda dealers. They tried everything. There is no power going to the screen so now they are taking it out and I'm guessing replacing it or taking it out and checking if there is a wire out. Luckily it is still guaranteed.
