Changelog Below for North America NA** 2019 to 2023 Mazda 3 (BP) and CX-30 (DM).
Color coded represents the Model and Year changelog.
For Europe EU** Most of the Changelog fixes listed also apply.
OBVIOUSLY ONLY for 7th Generation MAZDA CONNECT.
Remember you CAN NOT Mix or Change the Model Versions to other Firmware used in later models and or other Countries, the CMU will just not permit any attempts to try, plz do not
waste my time.
Some 'expert' Tuner Shop in Russia or Ukraine says they can change Regions
for a ''Fee'', however I would not trust this as from my experience even changing a complete CMU's from another (used Mazda) model does not work and introduces all sorts of compatibility problems with other Modules on the Bus, with constant dash warnings and even breakdowns (+ non Engine Start).
If you also approach a Mazda Dealer say in Europe with a US made for CX-30 they will tell you they can not change or even do anything with your car (electricly) as their Mazda Diagnostic systems (MDARS) ONLY works for cars Sold in Europe from new and car VIN Numbers must be entered to even start MDARS, but USA VINs are not accepted by MDARS in Europe, and Visa-Versa.
If you Contact Mazda HQ all they will tell you if they even reply or talk to you is that they ONLY Service Mazda Models imported New and sold New by their local Dealer Network.
As my thread says DO NOT Purchase used Mazdas originally sold in Canada or USA @ auctions as you might think you have a bargain saving $20K, but all you have bought is a nightmare.

I’m little bit scared about update my infotainment system. I don’t know if is the right file for Canadian version ...
What is the file in the car now, seriously Read what is says.

IF your FIRMWARE is a Lower Number then it is outdated, and up to you if you update at your own risk.

IF your Firmware is the EXACT SAME Number then you don't update...no reason to.

IF your Firmware Number is Higher than listed ABOVE then YOU DO NOT UPDATE...

Pretty simple really.

Changelogs are not available at the moment, same applies to fix bugs like ANY Firmware Update.
If anyone does not understand this then they should not touch their car.:nerd:

Please tell me how to unzip this file(.kwi).
HUH...

WHY do you ask about unzip file?
DID you Combine all at once to download, YOU SHOULD download, 1 (one) file at a time.

IF your file is a .zip, you need to extract it with Winzip or other program, or download the .kwi file ONLY again, one file at a time.

ONLY .kwi on Flash Drive.
Check Hashsum.

CHANGELOGS For Gen II MZD/Mazda CONNECT

Later or updated CHANGELOGS are also in Firmware SERVER.

• The latest version of MAZDA CONNECT II software cannot be rolled back to an earlier version.
• MMC does not always broadcast every or all changes done in latest Firmware Releases to Dealers.

------------------------------------------------------------------

REGION NA
CMU_7000C0A-NA01

• Some owners may experience that the MAZDA CONNECT II unexpectedly announces the speed limit when the Connectivity Master Unit (CMU) wakes up, regardless of the ignition switch position (ON / ACC / OFF). The speed limit is announced when the vehicle is unlocked and a door is opened (waking up the CMU) without touching the start button.
This concern occurs on the vehicles located in Canada and Mexico including those driven to and from the U.S.
It is caused by improper CMU Firmware and the unnecessary speed limit announcement function left activated at the factory. To correct the concern, the CMU software has been modified with 7000C0A-NA01_10018 and the speed limit announcement function has been removed.

• Some owners may experience that the MAZDA CONNECT II unexpectedly announces navigation guidance when the Connectivity Master Unit (CMU) wakes up even with the ignition OFF. The navigation guidance is announced the next time the CMU wakes up if the ignition was switched OFF while navigating to a destination was in use.
This concern is caused by improper CMU software. To correct the concern, the CMU Firmware has been modified with 7000C0A-NA01_10018.

REGION EU

THIS POST will be for regular Changelogs and will be updated when information is made available (not always), we do not have updated EU01 or 4A01 Firmware Files, IF you can get a copy from your Mazda Dealer PLEASE PM me to host it here in Server for others.
In most cases so many Changelogs / Firmware Updates with same bug fixes applies to all Regions even if No Changelogs are issued by the specific Mazda Distributor for that particular Region.

WARNINGS
Just thought I would mention this here as it is not an open secret.
Be VERY CAREFUL changing or altering ANYTHING PHYSICALLY that is connected to ANY Power Source.

Why?

Well this model Mazda (3) and NEXT Generation all new models, like new CX-30, New Mazda 6, etc has this very latest tech which verifies EVERY Parts as being correct, working correctly and doing what it is supposed to do.
ANY Changes Physically or normal wear and tare WILL Generate a DTC ( CEL Light on Dash) and a stored Diagnostic Trouble Code...which WILL NOT go away until THE issue is rectified as the Cars PCM/ECU stores and records this information UNTIL fixed. IF the Owner IGNORES problems then Computer will take over..and that is NOT a lot of Fun when car is put in (LHM) LIMP Home Mode.

That is what LIVE means, available on Hi-Drive Server as always...

Normal posters/Thread Starters CAN NOT 'update' ANY post after 24 hours, therefore the FIRST Page of this Thread cannot be updated by me..
However, the LINK on First page, First Post is live, active and correct.

Go to North America NA01 Folder and the new Firmware is in there...

Last time I checked CANADA is part of NA01 North America.

WARNINGS:
ALWAYS Checksum the HASH Values of your .kwi file AFTER you Download it..
FOLLOW the .PDF Install Instructions PRECISELY..
DO NOT have ANY Load on Cars Battery (lights on, Radio on, Fan, etc...called load).
Make sure your cars Battery is in good condition, these Firmware updates do not take that long, under 20 minutes.
IF your cars Battery is weak, then attach a Tender/Charger while Updating.

ONLY USE A WINDOWS 10 PC for Downloading, plus USB Drive Transfer of file, DO NOT USE ANY APPLE, IOS, MAC for Diagnosis or Repairs.
DO NOT DISCONNECT YOUR CARS BATTERY TERMINAL Clamps (+ or - ) ...EVER.

Really? Well shit. That sucks. Probably not even worth updating then unless there's some other fixes that improve user experience. Have you noticed any?

I wish Mazda would publish changelogs like everyone else that produces software.
I Just want to make this Very Clear.... :)
None of this is meant to be done by the or any Mazda Customer/Owner....Period, full stop end of story.

Firmware Updates are ONLY meant to be done Officially by Mazda Dealers.
We are fortunate to have a few Dealer Insiders who are here to help, otherwise you would see nothing and the same applied to original 6th Gen Connect.
I know for a fact that Mazda are trying to stop these firmware leaks.

:D

Anyway not dissing on you particularly, but same applies to anyone who does these firmware updates.
Mazda does not always publicize the changelog and if and when they do are to notify Mazda Dealers ONLY what was changed and why so a Dealer can address a Customers Issue....maybe.

Also 'a' particular Connect operational issue related to a particular Brand and Model of Phone can and usually is related to that particular Phone only and it's Software and or it's Firmware, Software (usually Apps) and Firmware are two different applications of code.
There were issues with Sirius and certain Apps on i-Phones and was not a Mazda problem with old 6th gen of Connect still in production..

Car brands are always playing catch up to what Samsung, Apple, Google does with their new phones.

Last if you believe there are little changes what warrant updating Firmware from 10018 to 10050, and 'not worth updating' then you are very mistaken....I can't factually back that up as I have no changelog list but I am certain bug fixes and changes are quite a few, based on my experience and past history.
Remember 10018 to 10050 is close to over 12 months of Firmware updates.

Cheers

Allow me to also be clear. My qualms are with Mazda, not the fantastic people who provide intermediate services that Mazda should be offering themselves instead of attempting to hide behind closed doors.
Not sure what you call "intermediate services that Mazda should be offering".... Connect is not technically open source, AFAIK I do not know any car brand which permits Owners to upgrade Firmware.
There are very good reasons why.
A few do live wi-fi upgrades, but these can and usually do have many poor outcomes too for owners and car companies.
In almost all cases Auto industry Software is contracted to 3rd parties on strict oversight and copyright as Mazda etc does not design code....they make cars not software.

Discussion starter · #111 ·
It is Mazda policy not to publicly publish their 'technical changes' (and very good reasons why).
Suggest if you don't like what they do don't buy another Mazda, I can tell you now it will never change, all Japanese car brands 'control' their IP very strictly as they do their engineering details, they just do not explain why in the detail that some might like to know it.
In time a changelog will emerge to Firmware updates, just not now. :)

Hi guys, I have American firmware 10014, I need to go to Europe, I try to install 10012, the system writes no files were found. How to do it right?
As the FIRST page of my Thread says, YOU CAN NOT Rollback to older firmware, period,, you have in car NA_10014 and you are trying to install EU_10012 for a starters Version Number 12 is lower than 14, as Page 1 says you can not roll backwards and old firmware, can only roll forward with newer firmware, ABOVE 14 in your case.

Now you are Also trying to install EU (Europe EU01) Firmware in your North American (NA01) Mazda.
Principal problems is same as Generation 6 Mazda Connect which use .up files like NA N and EU N BUT also have different code to operate different modules like DAB+ Radio, the USA does not have or use DAB+ Digital Radio, therefore your Mazda also does not have the DAB Control Modules inside your cars dashboard, plus other undocumented hardware issues.
Now having said all that WHEN a later version of EU Firmware (.kwi file) becomes available for EUROPE/UK
(like say EU01_10050) you may be able to update this Firmware past your cars current NA01_0014.
However as I just said, you will have problems with Radio, US Satellite Radio, and you COULD Brick your cars CMU as I know of no Mazda owner who has done this on a 7th Generation Mazda Connect II car successfully.

Any Mazda Dealer in Europe would generally not touch your car as ALL they have access to is EU Firmware and the current version is in our Server here now, they don't yet have any version EU01_10014 or higher.
Any install of wrong Firmware not designed for your Mazda would be at your risk and I can't see it being successful as the cars Hardware is specifically for North America ONLY.
