Looks like I'll be doing this soon

Tried to do mine but it seems the Mazda dealer has somehow stuffed the filters in the wrong way.
Does anyone know how to get them out?
BTW mine is RHD diesel so have to work around the clutch pedal.

Holy crap...I just took mine out (34K) and there was all kind of leaves and crap in there. Will be changing these more often and will stick with the o.e. Mazda parts, found them on Amazon and e-bay for less than what the dealers want, even asked for a discount so I wouldn't have to order them on-line and just got a dumb blank stare and was told that's the price...$31.95.

Did them on my wife's car today, thanks to this thread! Only took about 15 minutes. I got a solid 70K miles out of the stockers lmao. This is the one and only thing I hadn't serviced on the car, I didn't know it had them!!!
Just think... breathing in that shit....:surprise: Mine was just as bad.

I went to pepboys and bought a cabin air filter from there and noticed something different. I felt it was more restrictive than what came with the car originally.

I'm thinking of doing this too.. air is not blowing as much and there is some smell that I can't get rid of regardless of how much air freshener I use.. I have tested and figured out the stench is not an object in the car nor me.. the later is surprising xD

The smelly stuff may be on the other side of the fan. I just removed a wad of chewed up under hood insulation about the size of two fists from my blower intake. My car smelled like mouse pee.

I know this is a late post, but i read something on the video thats on youtube to replace the cabin filter about arching and frying the blower motor resister. Does anyone have anymore information about this?

Disinfectant Spray from the intake near the Wipers can help with the smell [ PS remove cabin filter and open all windows ]

Hi guys , I am new to this forum. I am trying to change my mazda 3 2011 cabin air filter with no luck. They are stuck deep to the left side of the cabin. I have seen in YouTube people pull them out easily. Please see this photo and let me know if you see anything unusual. Thank you

yes you have come in from the wrong side (i did it myself earlier after watching every video on you tube) go in on the passenger side remove the trim panel from the center console , where the back tag locates is what you need to remove ,there are 2 screws at the bottom and a clip at the top. Be careful asmthere is a wire attached to it ,you can move it to one side then slide the filters out
hope this helps
