For ND MX-5/Miata OWNERS Worldwide,
ALL of these listed parts have been installed and work in many ND’s Worldwide, see the Video’s in Links.
Also installed, tested and working in Mazda 2, Mazda 3, Mazda 6, CX-3, 5, 8, 9 and MX-5 around the world,
all only Genuine Mazda Parts/Software/Manuals.

THIS DETAIL IS ONLY FOR MAZDA'S WITH ''MZD/MAZDA CONNECT'' INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM..

Mazda Motors Europe (MME) has released Car Play and Android Auto, from Aug 6th 2018, genuine from your Mazda Dealer,
At Mazda dealers, only parts cost 220 euro, parts and installation cost 360 euro.

The shop sells for 88 euros 105.47US $ 47% OFF|Apple Carplay Android Auto Usb Adapter Hub Voor Mazda 3 Mazda 6 Mazda 2 Mazda CX5 CX9 CX3 MX5 Mazda CX 5 CX 9 CX 3 MX 5|TV-ontvanger voor auto| - AliExpress

Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) has also released the Genuine Parts Listed Below for the 2018 Mazda 6
(above Sport trim) for their Customer Comfort ‘Free’ update program. While you may find the Genuine Parts very difficult
to find supply as they are now restricting to Mazda 6 ONLY and via a VIN Number must also be supplied.
Yes, you will find some on-line USA, Canada and Europe Mazda Dealers who are prepared to sell the OEM Parts needed.

Apparently December, 2018 this year is the month when CP/AA is released for all models and Parts stocks will be freely available…?
In the meantime there are some on-line Mazda Dealers who will sell and or take orders and you then wait in a waiting line.
Mazmart.com is a good one to order through, they get some parts direct from Japan sources also at a limited number at a time and
They will ship Internationally.

MNAO and ‘some’ of their US Mazda Dealers are saying the OEM Parts Numbers are ONLY for the 2018 Mazda 6,
I can assure this is not correct.
Europe Only lists one set of part numbers for ALL Mazda Models with MZD CONNECT.

The 2019 Mazda USA Parts EPC is also recently out and showing genuine Mazda CP/AA with the exact same main Parts as listed Below.
The MUST have all new AUX HUB is the same Mazda Parts number worldwide for ALL Mazda Models and the all new USB Cable Set
is also the same for all models, USB Cable Sets are SPECIFIC for each Country and Region by Part Number,
Plus the end USB Plugs at all ends are identical worldwide.
Have confirmed a MNAO C922 Cable Set will fit and work on a Europe Spec Mazda and the
will Install and work on any NA N Specification/Sold Mazda.
Plus the all new AUX Hub Modules are ALL the same anyway.
Only REAL Difference is the FIRMWARE/Software which is Country and Region Specific as it always been the case.

Here are the Genuine MAZDA Part Numbers for the 3 main Regions of the World.

QUANTITY is ONE OF EACH ONLY.

North America, USA, Canada, Mexico, known as 'NA N' on your Touch-screen.
1. FIRMWARE version for 'NA N' for CP/AA of two .up files.

2. C922-V6-605 New USB Data Cable set of two, MUST be Installed THIRD.
3. TK78-66-9U0C New AUX Unit, MUST be Installed LAST.
0. 0000-8F-Z34 This is a local Mazda Part Number 'KIT' for MNAO ONLY, it contains ALL the NA N Parts needed and you may

3. TK78-66-9U0C New AUX Unit, MUST be Installed LAST.

The TK78-66-9U0C AUX Hub Module, is the same for NA N, EU N, and 4A N ADR).

Just be a little careful about those that order from any China Website direct, must be the orange label and most is all old stock
as they are selling the A's (TK78-66-9U0A), Mazda are ONLY using and selling the C's TK78-66-9U0C….
the ‘A’s , B’s or Plain Number -9U0 will not work with latest Official release FIRMWARE 70.00.021x.

Then the USB Cable Set (the Two new USB Cables) must be replaced between the
Any of the 3 OEM Part Numbered Genuine Mazda USB Cable SETs will work.
JUST REMEMBER your Mazda Distributor ONLY IMPORTS the Mazda Part Numbered Parts for their Region/Country,
So IF you Live in Toronto Canada, USA, New York, California etc, do not order or expect to getsold only in Europe.
And Visa Versa IF you live in UK or Germany, same applies to those living in 4A N Sydney, Perth, Adelaide AUSTRALIA or those in NZ,
South America, South Africa.
If you can Import any one of these Mazda USB Cable Set Part Numbers C830-V6-60Z or C922-V6-605 or C924-V6-605 they
will work with the new TK78-66-9U0C AUX Hub Module in ANY Mazda Model worldwide listed above..

The all new important 70.00.021x FIRMWARE which MUST be installed/run FIRST before you remove the OLD PARTS..see link below,
also included are ALL the Pdf Trim Removal Instructions and Video's and TESTING of Firmware and USB Flash Drive Hardware used,
MUST Read ALL the Warnings for SELF Installers

For North America NA N is...
cmu150_NA_70.00.021B_failsafe.up
cmu150_NA_70.00.021B_reinstall.up

For EU/UK EU N is...
cmu150_EU_70.00.021A_failsafe.up
cmu150_EU_70.00.021A_reinstall.up

For ADR 4A N is...
cmu150_ADR_70.00.021A_failsafe.up
cmu150_ADR_70.00.021A_reinstall.up

Much More Detail over @ 3 Rev Forum.

FIRMWARE/SOFTWARE INSTALLATION- First:
There is a new 2018 CMU Firmware update procedure for Worldwide, see Pdf attachment in link above,
yes it is from Europe but it is the same for North America and there are a few important procedural changes that MUST be Performed...

CP/AA Installation.
Do this project all at the same time, Mazda allows about 1.5 hours.
And do not start engine once you start this Firmware update process.
Yes can drive car once Firmware is successfully installed,
and BEFORE New Parts are installed LAST.

FIRST..
Must First install new 70's FIRMWARE, use new PDF Instructions.
Run and use the Software for a few Minutes before shutting car down again so YOU can confirm your 70’s Firmware WORKS OK,
YOU WILL NOT SEE CP/AA as a working Option UNTIL YOU then Renew the New AUX Hub and 2 New USB Cables.
Turn OFF car/ACC mode once done (Two Quick ONE after the Other Presses of S/S Button)
DO NOT have Feet ON Brake or Clutch Pedals, DO NOT Have Engine IGNITION ON or ENGINE RUNNING!

Then start pulling apart your dash/console, you need to access CMU and AUX Hub unit.
SEE THE VIDEOs IN THE SERVER LINK ABOVE.
Remove CMU (so you can install new USB cables.)
Remove OLD AUX Hub Unit and discard.
UNPLUG old USB Cable Plug and TAPE Back as it is NEVER re-used.

Position, Lay and Fix the Two New USB Cables and connect to NEW AUX Hub and connect both to your CMU.
Re-install new AUX Hub and CMU.
Verify and check.

Now Push S/S Button ONCE to put system in ACC mode, the new Firmware should initialize and start....you now have a working CP/AA.

PUSH CLICK BACK IN ALL REMOVED DASH TRIM PARTS, AND SCREWS.
MAKE SURE ALL WIRING IS CONNECTED AND NOT PINCHED ANYWHERE
AS IT COULD BE CUT ON ANY SHARP DASHBOARD METAL BRACKETS.

REPEAT Warnings:
One MUST install/run the new 70's Firmware BEFORE you install Two all new USB Cables and all New AUX Hub Module, in that order.
GENUINE CP/AA will not work with trying to install ‘short cuts’ or trying to fool the system, you cannot.

Mazda WARRANTY:
Mazda Japan stipulates that this CP/AA Retrofit Upgrade IS NOT to be used by any Mazda Dealer as a Repair Method Procedure in the event of CMU
or old AUX (original) becomes defective in a Customers car and needs renewing or repairing.
Firmware 59.00.xxxx will still be used as an update to cars without CP/AA, until further notice.
Mazda stipulates NOT TO Update with 70's Firmware UNLESS Owner is to have new AUX Unit Upgrade.
70's Firmware does not over-ride 59 Firmware use at THIS STAGE and must not be installed unless new CP/AA is to be fitted.
Install of these Genuine Mazda Parts will not Void any part of your New Car Warranty in any Country.

My question is related to

Do I need to have the mobile phone always connected to the indicated USB for me to have AA/CP

Im lead to believe that once the phone isnt connected to USB the HeadUnit reverts back to the MZD screen .

Is this correct

Cheers

See Post #6 for his reason. He wants to use AIO tweaks. And if you install .335 or .352 you have to do the serial access and thats what he wanted to avoid. And with .367 you can not Install AIO tweaks at all, as Mazda completely blocked it.

Second part of your post is a complete misunderstanding. Before the hardware install you have to update to any firmware 70. And yes, you can directly update to .367. After the hardware install you still can update your firmware to e.g. .367 or stay at .100. And you can also downgrade to any FW 70. I would not recommend to downgrade lower as the new usb hub just works with any FW 70.

Good evening Tristan-cx5 :) I was going to post to the forum below, but it is closed. I am also posting to get my account going so I can direct message, if needed.
NEW 74 Mazda CONNECT MZD Firmware ,CP/AA, WCP, links, Help

So to fill the space I have a couple questions on an Apple CarPlay install for my 2015 Mazda 3.

I recently purchased USB hub - TK78-66-9U0C (Made in Japan) & USB Cables C922-V6-605. The cable set didn't have an "A" at the end so hopefully not a huge deal.

I started installing fail safe 70.00.100 and accidentally turned off my car when it was done. I bricked it. However, I came back from the dead over a week's period and unbricked it. Now I have OS version 70.00.100 NA N installed.

I never took out my navigation card, and everything still works properly so not a big deal right?

My main question is before I install the USB cables and then hub to complete the CarPlay install, should I continue on to upgrade the firmware once more to 70.00.335C or 74.00.311A, or simply leave at what I have in the 70.00.100 and finish the job?

Thanks for all your posts and info, really helped me through this process.

The letters at the end are revision/version numbers that should not be relevant, but the higher the letter, the newer the version of the hardware.

Correct, an update might work with the NAV SD, but recommended by Mazda is to remove it during a firmware update.

It does not matter, if you update to a higher version or not before the hardware installation. AA/CP will get visible/activated automatically after the hardware installation, as you already have installed the required firmware (70 or higher). You can update before the hardware installation or after - this does not matter.

I remember seeing a thread where PDF files with instructions for hardware installation for each car model were located, but can't seem to find one now.
Or it was on HiDrive, which is dead now.

Can someone point me to where I can find all those PDF files for different Mazda models?

Are the made in China hubs definitely not going to work? Or is it just a genuine issue ?
For example on Ebay there is this one TK78-66-9U0C for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Retrofit Kit for Mazda 00008FZ34 | eBay for only $176
But there is also the Made in Japan version: Genuine Mazda 2 3 6 CX3 CX5 CX8 CX9 Apple Carplay Android Auto Retrofit Kit | eBay For $316 !

Please advise if you know, I dont really wanna spend over $300bucks if i dont have to

Also If anyone is interested I just called Mazda Australia and they quoted me:
TK78-66-9U0E - AUX Hub x1: $244.65
C294-V6-605 - Carplay / Android Auto Harness $123.82

I just bought the Mazda Apple Carplay and Android AA USB Retrofit Kit TK78 66 9U0C C922 V6 605A shipped from China installed and worked fine. Now awaiting the latest 74.00.311 4A N or higher 74.00.324 for better panel response.
