i've done similar research and with the same questions. seems that forscan is the only affordable option for us to perform a task such as an ABS bleed. from what i can tell, it seems to work but it looks like you'll have to use the desktop windows version. i think that means we'd have to get a laptop or a windows tablet might do the trick? not sure on the tablet.

i plan to try it at some point and commandeer the wife's win10 tablet to see what happens. i really don't want to buy a laptop just for this but then again....

Yeah I have it downloaded to the laptop and everything. I fired it up for the first time and was pretty disappointed to see that I couldn't do too many service features. I'm not completely stupid when it comes to these things, I've used Toyota's TIS when I worked at a dealership. I've also used IDS but not near as much.

 

Out of curiosity, did you try the abs bleed? That's all I'm really after. Anything else I can probably handle with just a ghetto code reader.

 

Yes, having M-MDS+IDS for free in the laptop would be great, i think. Unfortunately, it's not going to happen

 

All I can get is an ABS recalibration. No bleed options that I can see

 

If you are looking for an ABS bleed tool I have been told this one works on Mazdas, and its not terrible expensive.
