I did the tests who @ikxdf shared and... yes,
the problem was resolved 70%. I still hear some noise but much higher therefore less audible.
If you need I can take pictures for you. I did the same fix but I also added some tape under the rubber in the corner, not just on the outside.
So I'm not happy with not having 100% solved and in any case I would never leave some tape visible every time I open the door, but with this fix I realized that 100% is a problem of rubbing seals.

I am going to show you two videos that I shot before the fix.
Can you check if you also have these problems?
Thank you.

I solved my rattles I think.
I agree though that stuffing foam or balled up butyl tape underneath the rubber corner bumpers is key. And I had to use a combination of butyl tape and gorilla tape around the outside corner. A couple layers. It took that much to tighten everything up.

I also had to tuck some 3M butyl tape underneath the exterior shiny piano black plastic trim that hits the rubber seal. That was loose.

Can you please send photos or video of your fixes? I did not understand the fix under the black plastic part

Here's some pics.

Thank you very much! Now I understand everything! You put some butyl between the rubber and the shiny black pillar. I also noticed this, that moving the rubber caused noise even between those two pieces.
Now the question is: can we move on with visible tape in the corner of the door? 😂

Honestly I kept just adding tape until it was quiet. Maybe I'll make it look pretty but you can't tell when the doors shut. I really don't give a shit. I just wanted it quiet.

I think the best solution is to buy a can of spray expanding foam. Stick the straw up underneath that loose rubber piece and fill it completely with foam so nothing can rattle around.

An update from me, seems the driver side is still being cooperative. I did forget to mention I put a small piece of clear teflon tape on the small rubber flap on top of the rear door the front driver door contacts when closed. The passenger side I intentionally left off a piece to see what I did with the window track vs the small piece of rubber flap makes. The small rubber flap does make noise as well still. Though that was just the other small percentage of noise left on the door. The window track is what was making most of the noise on my vehicle. As for the tape I used, I think this was what I ordered: McMaster-Carr. Its been 8yrs since I bought it to use on my Abarth but looks like the stuff.

I still think filling that entire void underneath that flap with expanding foam is the way to go. Sticking tape on the outside identifies and solves the rattle - but it won't last.

You cant fill anything in on the rear door. The flap on the back door is just a small piece of rubber, 1/2" maybe, that contacts the front door. Why its there, not sure as there is a break and then the rest of the rubber seal goes down the front of the door. The front door I already have everything solid in the corner spot where guys are putting foam behind. Its a stick/slip noise, not a rattle. That's why the tesa tape on the front door top edge ikxdf did works. I'm just using a different tape on the other spot that is contacting.

I know the little flap that you are saying attached to the rear door. It doesn't seem to do anything except hide a shadow line when the two doors close together. It does flap around on its own. What a piece of shit design.

Right? lol Mazda makes nice cars but its just the stupid little shit that annoys the crap out of you. Might just tape it back and see if there is any wind noise or whistling that occurs with it not there. If there isnt added wind noises or anything, might just cut them off and be done with them.

Yep..... Outside of cutting that shit off I might run a piece of butyl tape on the back of the curl. It might give it some rigidity and stop it from moving around so much.

So it seems like taping up new Mazda 3's to fix their quality control issues is the norm now. The tape should be included in the glovebox as an accessory.
Well..... [emoji1787]That's pretty funny because I was thinking the same thing. A big roll on top of the spare tire too.

Over the weekend I fixed all of the issues with my mazda. Including the all-wheel drive and/or rear differential noise which is causing all kinds of problems for Mazda without a fix. I guess it is nearly almost every Turbo all-wheel drive now. Some people have had Mazda give them new cars with the same problem.

Anyway.......Attached is the solution I came up with [emoji2]

Hi All,

Just wanted to add my fix to this as using the tape method was still producing the rattle sound in temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius.

I removed the B pillar cover by unscrewing the one screw behind the SRS Airbag clip using a a plastic pry tool. After that, I just needed to pull off the part slowly as the pillar was just held in with clips to hold it in place.

I looked at the spring noted previously but mine seemed fine and didn't look like that would cause a lot of noise. I kept looking around and tapping on items and noticed that where the screw goes, that square white piece when tapping on it, sounded identical to the tapping/rattling sound when driving.

It seems that, even though you screw down the B pillar as much as possible, there is still some wiggle room for that piece to jiggle around. I taped it down with some weather proof outdoor tape and screwed back in the B pillar. Its been a month now and the same road that I always notice this sound on has disappeared.

I would try the items above but if if its still making noise, try this. Also don't be too scared about the 'SRS Airbag' sign. No airbags back there but open at your own risk.

Attached are photos of my issue and how I resolved it.

Model:
2020 Mazda 3 Hatchback sport.

Temperature when rattling sound is noticed when going over bumps in the road:
10 Celsius and below.
