Dash light up like a Christmas tree, Temporary loss of electri power

I have a 2015 3s Touring (2.5L SkyActive) hatchback with a 6-speed manual transmission. Last week while driving on a highway the BSM light flashed on my dash, my stereo skipped for a second or two. Since my car has a manual transmission it normally displays what gear you're in but that stopped. It still drove fine so I continued on my way to work. On my way home well into my drive it did it again on the highway. Then on just about every drive it'll do that except last night instead of just the BSM being on, the dash light up like a Christmas tree, the electric power steering lost power a bid and I had to fight to steer, the stereo had no sound, but was still able to drive. All the warning lights go off and drives like normal but again, no gear indicator, power window works but no auto up or down. The battery is only about 2 years old so I don't think it's that. Has anyone had something like that happen or know what it might be?

just because the battery isn't very old doesn't mean that it can't be faulty. never assume, assume is spelled ass u me. i would get the battery load tested to verify health.

also possible that there's a problem with the alternator and battery is not getting charged. ground fault is very possible. silly things too, clean the battery contacts if needed. are you getting any squealing noises? could indicate slipping belt. after that i'd be suspecting some sort of electronics failure. a relay not holding is also possible.

Yeah, I'm not ruling out the battery or even the alternator. No squealing noises so probably can rule out the belt. I think I'll bring it is to have the charging system looked at. I'm hoping a bad alternator is the worst case scenario.

Well the problem came back except this time the car only stuttered a brief moment and a couple of lights on the dash flashed and right back to normal except the gear display stopped showing. BSM works fine, radio works fine, etc. Then when I shut the car off and start it back up everything is normal again.... until the next time it happens. This is really annoying and I'm going on a long trip is a couple of weeks.

I actually checked the negative terminal to the battery and sure enough it was loose. I tightened it up and hopefully this solves the problem.
