Hey @Tristan-cx5, do you know what brand and part# is the 16pin plug to power USB Hub?, I'm building a bench setup and I can't maintain a good connection with alligator clips.
and what is this? a video input?
some models have this connection:
282507

I answer my own question Yes it's video, interesting, there are three video inputs in the CMU.

282509

Hey craz, I did some research for you... but it is a 12 pin connector, not 16 ;-)

Connector 0920-206A of your wiring diagram most probably (I guess 98%) is a Sumitomo 6098-5713 (Link):

Why I think so:
1. Sumitomo Logo is printed on my original connector.
2. The outer measurements fit the original connector, which I also measured.
3. Yellow marked pins 8240-0215 are recommended for this connector. I have these ones here and they can be connected to the original connector as well. These pins are the same as for the serial connection I mentioned earlier from Aliexpress (Link to Aliexpress).

So either you buy this connector or just buy the pins and use heat shrink tubes around them. Back then I bought a cheap wiring harness from a salvage car (from polish website www.allegro.pl - a country next to Germany in Europe) which included this connector.

Concerning your other question about the 1K and 1L pins of the CMU: Correct finding of yours. There are cars which are not equipped with a MZD (large display), but with a much simpler audio unit/radio (no touch display). These cars do not have this iPod video connection from the simple audio unit/radio unit to the usb hub. Example wiring diagram and cheap audio unit of an CX-5 KE 2016:

My handwriting is not the best and I did it in German, but perhaps my notes and colored marks on the wiring diagrams (CX-5 KE) might help you to build your bench setup:

OK, great thanks yep my bad it's 12pin plug. I'll purchase it.
I've found only wired 1K 1L in CX3 and MX5 with center display, I'll research more I'm interested to find out CanBus ID's for all video inputs and if all electronics are in place inside CMU.
Thanks again

I found a t-harness that is compatible with the Bose Amp
PAC APH-GM02 - Speaker Connection Harness - PAC
Bought it at Crutchfield - PAC APH-GM02 AmpPro Speaker Connection Harness Connect a new amp to your vehicle's speaker wiring in select 2014-up GM vehicles with factory Bose amp at Crutchfield
The labels are incorrect but all of the wires are present
Please forgive my lack of knowledge on this but is it just the speaker wires that are labelled incorrectly or would I have to change any of the pins around for the non speaker side of things that the Bose amp also handles ? Thanks

Most of it is not labeled correctly, and the wires with the correct label do not have the correct pin type to be moved.
I use this post 2014-2018* Mazda 3 & Mazda 6 w/BOSE Full System... to see what each wire was

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to create my own harness for experimenting with the CMU outside the car (it's easier and safer). So far, I've managed to identify the following plugs:
  • CMU 2xUSB: Hirose GT17HN-4/4DP-2H(BC) on the PCB with a GT17HNS2-4DS-ASSY KEY B connector for the USB and KEY C for the DVD
  • CMU Power/ACC/RS485/3.3VTTL/HSCAN/LocalCAN: Sumitomo 6098-6212 with the 6098-5611 plug on the harness side. It's presented in the catalogue, but not on the site.
  • CMU Sound: TE 1-1565373-1 with the 1717115-1 plug
  • CMU GPS: Probably Sumitomo as well. TBD.
  • CMU Display: GT17HN-4DP-2H(A) plug and GT17HNS2-4DS-ASSY Key A for the cable
Can anyone confirm these for me? The Sumitomo power connector doesn't seem to have any distributors in Europe. Do you guys have any idea? If I buy a tray or stick (whichever is the smallest) is anyone interested?

I'll try to also identify the connectors for the Display power, the USB/SD/AUX module, the CD player, the command switch, the TAU, the BOSE amp, the Mic, the GPS, the Camera and any other connectors that I've missed. The end goal is to have a fully functional CMU on a board for experimenting.

Cheers,
R.
