Hi, i'm not sure is this the right topic for my problem but i will give it a try.

I bought a Mazda 3 from Switzerland, Revolution 2.0 petrol 165hp, 2017. and it has a (probably known) problem with ABS, maybe because the battery was dead when the car was bought. With my original ABS modul there is many errors on the dashboard + among others this fault: U3000:49-2B, Failure type 49 Internal Electronic failure, which per my mechanic is a sign that my modul is dead. I found two used modules, one with the exact same serial numbers but from an english car with right wheel and automatic gearbox, and one with different numbers on ABS modul but from a car with the same engine and manual gearbox as mine, and neither worked when we tried. The difference is that there is no more fault code U3000, now it's the famous U2300 and also U0101. Is there anything else that can be done except buying a brand new modul from an official Mazda service? I read about some programming/reconfiguring the new module using the settings from the old one but don't know the details.

My vin number is JMZBN647601508188 , if it means anything.

Have you tried performing ABS initialization using FORScan?

@Silent Bob Forscan is free and easy to master. All you need is a Windows laptop, an ELM327 with switch, vgate vlinker etc, and request by mail a 2 month free license.
If ABS came from the same model as yours odds are in your favor, programming is not necessary. Anyway ABS as-built code has only one line of code.
Perform an ABS initialization/relearn as @SergSlim told you to do earlier and you'll be OK.

Thank you, we downloaded Forscan and registered, we also got vgate vlinker made for Forscan and we will try tomorrow. I hope that one of two modules will work, one is from right wheel auto with automatic transmission but with same number on the module (Ate controller 28.5162-4201.3) and the other is left wheel manual gearbox but with different numbers. I hope it will work somehow.

Finally changed my ABS pump/module today (CX9 '21). Drained & bleed brake fluid as well

Now mrcc retrofit is completed with stop & go and autohold

Now maybe wanted to explore TJA / CTS retrofit of CX9, looks possible but am not sure

Saw in youtube even CX5 KE can do it. Maybe using new FSC? anyone has experience here?

Or maybe going straight to openpilot on Comma3x is better?

#7,234 ·
Originally came with cruise control only. In my region, even until today, top trim CX9 does not have MRCC while CX8 & CX5 does (weird, we also still have 8.5 inch screen vs 10.25)

So i changed/added

Radar
Emblem + holder
Steering switch

It enabled MRCC but w/o braking (only speec control via throttle)

Then changed ABS pump

MRCC brake is enabled

Also, car came with autohold from dealer

So I hate to barge in folks long time looker I believe first time poster I got a 06 Mazda 3 I got 2.5 swapped it was an automatic now 6 speed 08 speed 3 tranni swapped In the swap over I ditched the automatic cluster and used the speed 3 08 cluster in my 06.

Fast forward now the speed 3 had tpms and my 06 does not. But the light is on in my cluster I keep getting led back here for Mazda 3 asbuilt stuff tried the method on the rx8 threads about 720-01-01 But it also mentions that if there is more than 1 block , Its probably different. of coarse i have 2 blocks so editing my block of 720-01-01 with the values i added up the light is still on.

any one got any clues on this one?

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out as a last resort after exhausting all options.

I recently installed a replacement instrument cluster (IC) for my Mazda 3 BM (originally from Malaysia) — the new cluster was sourced from China via Aliexpress. However, when I flashed my old IC’s AsBuilt config into it using FORScan, which corrupted the font display (numbers and letters now appear disfigured/alien-like).

I’ve tried multiple variations of 720-01-01 (including those with 804B, 8050, 814C, etc.) But nothing seems to restore the correct Mandarin fonts.

Would anyone here happen to:

  1. Have a full working 720 block configuration from a China-spec Mazda 3 BM with a Mandarin cluster?
  2. Know the exact 720-01-01 value needed to correct the font rendering for a China IC?
  3. Be able to provide a working China VIN tied to a proper Mandarin display for this IC?

Any help would be massively appreciated. I can read Mandarin and don’t need it changed to English — I just want the fonts to render properly again.

Thank you in advance!

There are motors inside your headlight that moves the projector side to side. My best guest would be that there is a wiring issue somewhere, some wire snapped off or got chewed on. If you're willing to get your hands dirty, you can get a wiring diagram for AFS system, multimeter, remove the front bumper, and unplug your headlight control module, and just test them for continuity. If everything is fine, second guess is AFS control module has had it's last breath but I'd be willing to bet my money on wiring issue.

thanks for the answer. The ex-owner before me (3 months ago) had a crash because i saw the front bumper was changed but I don't know nothing about headlights. When i turn on the car the headlight normaly start calibration (up-down left-right) but in my case i put my car in front to a wall to see better and my headlights move only up and after this is going AFS error and go max down in safety mode and that is all. i will leave here also some pictures with the headlights. My mazda 3 is Europe version. Someone told me are not headlights for europe. another guy told me the headlights must to be programated to this car. I will try your ideea with wireds and afs control module.

I have already turned on the i-DM function.
Can also be used normally
But the only thing missing is the indicator light on the digital instrument to identify the operation.
How do I set the light to turn on?

View attachment 303980
You look at the iDM app on your car infortament screen, the indicator lights are physical LED lights so unless you solder and drill the holes on your dashboard, you won’t see them

Edit: this looks like 4th gen Mazda 3? Forscan does not support this model so idk if you’re at the right place. I have seen many 4th gen Mazda 3 comes with iDM at factory, so you need to look at your own car manual to see what indicator light your car have.

Is there a way to read and change As-Bulit coding in a Mazda 3 BP 2019+ or CX-30, CX-5? Forscan unfortunately either does not identify the car or shows a couple of modules but when trying to change coding it throws a security key authorization error. MDARS unfortunately does not allow coding changes - only flash and others from the cloud. My European lights in a US car generate an error and I need to code/disable AFS. (Mazda cx-30)

What does FORScan website says?
Oh, look, it says: Attention: Mazda 7G models (new Mazda 3, CX-30, MX-30, CX-50 etc) are supported partially or not supported at all!

Also:

Please use the following algorithm if FORScan cannot recognize your 2023+ car:

1. Download and install the latest offical release (2.3.52 at this moment).
2. If it doesn't work or work but partially, please contact FORScan support team and provide your VIN (in case of the car isn't recognized at all) or debug information (in case of car is recognized, but some other problem exists).

I need that in is that true, and if it's not, is there someone who can help me with this?
