The market for 2.5T PP cars is hot - they've been flying off dealer lots since mid-June here in the Midwest. I was too late for one such car at a dealer, missing out by just 20 minutes. Dealers are unlikely to offer discounts (but you can try to find good value for money on sca.auction) with such high demand. I was lucky to eventually find my precious car, which went from detailing to the showroom and straight to my garage. Good luck to all those still searching!

My previous car was totalled on February 15th. I called several dealers in Texas about a new Hatchback Turbo Premium Plus, but all of them were waiting for shipments and/or already had deposits. My local dealer in southeast Houston had nothing on their lot, and nothing on the horizon. Three days later, a Snowflake White Pearl w/ black interior appeared on the MazdaUSA site, due for central Texas, 200 miles away. I called that dealer immediately, and they agreed to deliver it to me in Houston. When it finally arrived on their lot, they jacked up the price from MSRP and made buying it a brutal ordeal (PM me for details!), but it was clear that I would decline every one of their BS add-ons and never return there for service...

The market for turbo hatches is hot, and even hotter for Premium Plus trim. (I could not bring myself to like the red interior or Platinum Quartz colors, which narrowed my choices considerably.)

After test driving a bunch of cars, I decided to get a new or used Mazda 3 and if new, I decided to go for carbon trim Mazda 3 sedan or hatchback as it has the majority of features I wanted without the big jump to the premium trim. The value option I think in the line up. Anyways, I called a bunch of dealers in the Orlando area and 2 were willing to go below MSRP. One told me because the sedan is not as popular, he is willing to give me a discount but not on the HB. I slightly preferred a sedan over the hatch so was fine for me.

I used their quotes against each other and closed the deal on a sedan fresh off the truck 24 hours before. 2k under MSRP is a pretty good deal I think. First time buying a new car, strange that it had 8 miles on the odometer when I took it for the test drive at the dealer.
