Since the above posts are all prior to the height of summer, I figured I'd set some current realistic expectations. These cars started flying off the lots around mid June, at least here in the Midwest. I showed up at a dealer 5hrs after a 2.5T PP was put on their site and someone else beat me to it by 30min. So basically, dealers have no incentive in the current market to offer any discounts (other than factory rebates). Luckily found my baby a week later and she went straight from detailing to the showroom to my garage. If you're out there searching, good luck!

$1K off MSRP not including the $750 loyalty (own a 2019 CX-5 Signature). Would have preferred Turbo PP, but could not find one anywhere on the east coast. Most dealers seemed to have one to three Model 3 Sedans. I didn't find a dealer with more than 1 Turbo sedan. They also told me they are not expecting more inventory for a while. I originally planned to buy a CX-30, but the stock on those were even worse. There was a Sedan Turbo in Black at another dealer that had a bigger listed (no negotiation) discount. I wanted the same discount on the Soul Red, but dealer would not match due to no inventory. Worst time to buy a car, but my son needed one for part-time job/commuting to college.

This was probably an inflated price due to COVID, but the car was basically immaculate and had almost no miles on it. Following the old addage of "if you feel like you got a good deal, you got a good deal", I pulled the trigger. I got it from CarMax so there really wasn't any wiggle room. One complaint about that I have is they didn't even wash my baby before I bought it but I'm going to be giving her a deep clean, possibly a ceramic coat. I also got a really low financing rate (well, it seemed pretty low anyway) from PenFed at like 4.5% so my payments and insurance all told are much lower than I expected. Overall, extremely happy with my purchase and haven't even owned it for a week. Time will tell, but she's so much fun to drive, and so nice

Dealer would not budge on price. In fact salesman whom I’ve worked with for past seven years told me if I hadn’t had a deal sheet from a prior visit where I bought a CX-5 for my wife, I would have had to pay MSRP. Salesman stated sales managers are killing them making them take only MSRP or above, but market is in such a state that there is no choice. Took almost 6 weeks for them to get me a PP Turbo.
BTW - I leased because I am a bit of a caraholic. I am on my 4th Mazda since 2016. 2016 CX-5 GT, 2018 Mazda3 GT, 2019 Mazda3 premium, and now 2021 Mazda3 PP.

I think MSRP was $30,800 or so, I paid $500 less due to military discount. I traded in a 18 Chevy Equinox Premier. They gave me $24k which is a lot higher than a couple years ago. I think I paid $29k for it 3.5 years and 50k miles ago. Also .9% for 3 years. Tax was low because I only paid tax on around $6300. Usual doc fee. I did buy coverage for tires, rims, door dings, etc. My son will get the car in a couple years and I will look at the 2.5T or if a new Mazda 6 comes out. Extended warranty thru Zurich, 8 years 100k, zero ded. I forgot the price. Didn't even know Mazda made an AWD version till this Tues.
