Danger warning for those using 74.00.324 and 74.00.331 (Apple CarPlay wireless version available from factory) if you install AIO tweak: - Immediately you will not be able to turn on wifi carplay, resulting in loss of wireless carplay - With version 74.00.324 everything can be resolved if you reinstall the firmware to solve the problem. However the problem with 74.00.331 is that the version is already publicly available for download so it is not possible to downgrade or reinstall the firmware to resolve the issue. Currently I'm stuck at 74.00.331 even though I've tried removing all the tweaks but still can't solve it.

Check the backup of the system files on the flash drive you used to install AIO. Restoring these files should help:
  • /jci/gui/apps/syssettings/js/syssettingsApp.js
  • /jci/scripts/jci-fw.sh
If you don't have backup you can try to use files from .324.

Hi, and thank you, I tried the full uninstall option and fully system restore by AIO but it doesn't seem to work.I am currently using carlinkit 4.0 as a temporary workaround option and waiting for version 74.00.331 to be shared.

Created an account just to say Thank You! I researched this when I first got my car over a year ago, and came to the consensus that it was no longer possible. Today, I randomly came across a post about it on Reddit, where the person said it was no longer possible, and decided to research it, again, and am I glad I did.

My firmware is 74.00.324 4A N, Japan built car, OEM CarPlay, located in Australia.

For some reason, using "CD" command didn't work, but "cd" worked fine. I also had an issue with the keyboard not being recognized, but using a different one worked fine.

Tweaks installed:
No boot warning (must have)
Faster UI tweak (didn't know it was a thing, but holy! System feels so much faster now)
Touchscreen (worked perfectly, main reason for this tweak install for me)
Entertainment list (for some reason did not work and remained default)

Any feedback on the list order not working? Maybe a reinstall is required?

Also, if I take the car to dealer, will they be able to recognize it is installed and have issues with it? (i.e future updates, refuse service, etc)
How does the uninstall process go in case I, for some reason, want to revert to stock?
Hi, I have the same firmware 74.00.324 4A N (also in Australia). Just had the OEM Android auto / carplay added. But I cannot get this to work. It tells me CMU version is not compatible.

I updated the Run.sh to replace "-eq 70" with "-eq 74" (I only found 1 occurrence).

Did you do anything else to get it to work?

Cheers. Version and error pics in case I am missing something.

Nothing more to change. Doublecheck the file at the usb stick. Is there maybe also a tweaks.sh? If so, this also has to be changed the same way.
I almost didnt check the USB file as I had been into it so many times to make sure it was right... But I checked one more time... It was still saying 70... sigh.... No idea how or what I did... Changed it to 74 again, tried again and all worked! Turns out I am just a muppet, thanks!

Hi,
Warning for 74.00.331 ❗
Installing AIO tweaks on firmware version 74.00.331 may disable wireless CarPlay. AIO tweaks are only recommended for versions 74.00.324 and lower.

Special thanks to @ktk and @Kore for helping with my installation in the comments of this post. It took me some time scrolling through the comments of that post to get this to work, so I decided to make a dedicated FW 74 post. Hope this is helpful for the next person wanting to install this mod.

I will try to create a list of working tweaks. Leave a comment with the tweaks you installed, and on what FW.

Prerequisites

Firmware Compatibility
: This guide is specifically for Mazda Connect firmware v74 and above.
(My system is running FW 74.00.324A EU on a 2017 Mazda MX-5 ND RF).

Hardware:
  • A USB drive formatted to FAT32.
  • USB keyboard
Step 1: Download Mazda AIO Tweaks Software

  1. Download the latest version of Mazda AIO Tweaks:
    • Visit the official Mazda AIO Tweaks website: Mazda AIO Tweaks.
    • Download the appropriate version for your OS.
  2. Disconnect your computer from the internet and open the Mazda AIO Tweaks software.
  3. If your computer is connected to the internet you will get this error message (after the application has started you can reconnect your computer to the internet):

Step 2: Select and Customize Tweaks

  1. Connect the USB Drive to your computer and ensure it’s empty and formatted to FAT32.
  2. In the Mazda AIO Tweaks software, select the tweaks you want to install:
    • I have installed the following tweaks:
      • Touchscreen While Moving
      • Shorter Delay Mod
      • No More Disclaimer
      • No More Beeps
  3. Build Your Installation Package:
    • Click "Install Options" in the top left and select “Build run.sh”.
      View attachment 298701
    • After selecting your tweaks, click Start Compilation.

      View attachment 298702

    • The software will generate necessary files and save them to your USB drive.
Step 3: Preparing the USB

  1. On the USB, modify the "run.sh" file after compiling your tweaks. Search for "-eq 70" and replace it with "-eq 74".

  2. Download all the content from this Github.

  3. Place all the files/folders it in the root folder of the USB drive. Your USB should look like this now:

Step 4: Installing the tweaks in your car
I added a video of me doing the install on my car at the bottom of this post.

When installing an update on your Mazda, the car will typically stay on for about 25 minutes with the ignition in the "ON" position (without the engine running) if the clutch isn't pressed. This process should not take anywhere near 25 minutes, but if you are spending some time, I would suggest pressing the clutch every 15 minutes. For automatic cars, I believe you can press the brake pedal to achieve the same effect.
  1. Power on the car; you don’t need to turn the engine on
  2. Connect the USB drive and your keyboard
    • On my unit, I had to switch off the hardware switch for Apple CarPlay to have the system recognize the USB. I used the top USB-A for my keyboard and the bottom USB-C for my USB drive (with a USB-A to USB-C adapter).

  3. Navigate to "Entertainment" and select your USB drive.
  4. Wait for the popup menu and click terminal.
  5. Wait another 20 seconds and click terminal again after the second menu appears (watch video for more information)
  6. Navigate to the USB drive using “cd tmp/mnt/sdb1”
    • Might be “cd tmp/mnt/sda1” in your system. Watch video to see me navigating one folder at the time.
  7. Run the command "ls" in order to list the content of the folder, confirm the presence of the "run.sh" file and run the tweak using the command “sh run.sh”
  8. You will be prompted to confirm installation, select 'YES - GO ON'.
  9. Wait for the installation to finish.
Hi, would you be able to know why on step 4.4, the menu doesn't pop up on my end. I'm running version 74.00.311 EU N on a Mazda cx 5
