I'm curious what oil & oil filter does everyone use? And the mileage that you put it through

Currently: Fram Ultra XG6607 4k ATM w/ Mobil1 0w20 AFE, planning to run 8k on it
Last one I ran OEM filter & oil 3K

I did my 2nd oil change at 5900 miles, i use OEM Filter, and Castoral Edge 0w20 full syn, i feel the run smoother and feel a bit more throttle repsonse.. idk if this is just me.

I need to buy an oil filter tomorrow and I have used the OEM one because I have read somewhere online that skyactiv engines have special bypass and some other thing that the original OEM filter has and not others. I have the 2012 Skyactiv 2.0 not sure if its the same for newer 2.0 and 2.5 or if 3rd partie have catch to this.

Been using Pennzoil Platnium for a good while now and every runs perfect, paired with a WIX filter.

I've been using a few brand engine Oil on my 2014 mazda 3 sport. Fresh oil change every 4000km-5000km
Brand as follow
Mazda syn 0w-20 (came with the car) - Its basic syn oil nothing special or bad about it
Motul Eco-nergy syn 0w-30 -4nd Choice (didn't noticed much different from Mazda syn 0w-20 after oil change)
Eneos SUSTINA 0W-20 syn -3nd Choice (car runs less smooth after 5000km and oil was super dirty)
Liqu Moly 0w-40 syn -2nd Choice
Liqu Moly 0w-20 syn -1st Choice

I've found that Liqu Moly 0-20w syn performed the best on my car ( Base on overall Cold starts, long driving trip, acceleration and most importantly after 5000km the car still runs smooth)

I 've been using Mazda OEM oil filter (blue) since day one. I do find mazda OEM filter works the best on the car base on how the inside were made and how dirty of the oil.

P.S. Please stay away from Fram, your oem oil filter will perform much better than that

Mazda fixed price servicing in Australia is expensive. A Basic oil change at dealer is A$300! Australian servicing is every 12 mths/10,000km.

OTOH You can get a synthetic oil that meets OEM requirements for A$50 (on sale), and a reasonable brand oil filter for A$15. I have in my possession an unopened jug of STP 10w-40, i'll use that. I don't care about brands. It's all good.

Then while the car is on jack stands, inspect inspect inspect.........I try and not take the wheels off unless I have to.

Used to use OEM filters but they are made in another country now and dont seem as good quality. Switching to wix/napa gold (specific made for mazda). I used castrol 1X, never again stupid dark bottle is very hard to read which doesnt help given the terrible dip stick design. So either moble 1/M1 extended performance or penzoil platnium/ultra
