You know i just realized there is no mention of the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires in the grassroots tire guide

Here is a great Michelin side by side review of the -
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 VS Cup 2 R

I thought i would bump this up to the top for 2023 for those you looking at a pure summer performance tire.

The Grassroots link was recently updated in jan 23rd 2023 and mentione the new RE71-RS but pic was not Updated.

I also thought this video Tech talk of tires used at Nurburgring and how many hot laps they get from each
and for what purpose need. What blew away was that he says the Cup2 on a 700hp Porsche gets about 80 laps
A track that is 10 miles long = 800 miles of hot laps.

The issue here is from a mazda standpoint. It's a matter of which one works best with our cars because at some point there will be too much tire for the car's stock suspension at which point you need to upgrade the suspension to handle the new tires.

So very true !
My thought is always that Tires are your first performance upgrade.
An R compound maybe too much for OEM but not a 200Tread wear or even a 240 to 320 Tread wear .

I will post another link about those 240-320 TW tires

Terrific new video from tirerack on this subject.

I autox'd my mazda 6 for years on Toyo's venerable RA1's (most similar to Nitto's NT01's, but also Toyo R888's) on stock everything. The heavy boy chewed through wheel bearings every other year with the lateral load allowed from the rcomps.

Their tire width vs wheel width was also terrific:

Too bad they only tested the Cup2 Connect 240 and not the CUP2
