Any belts you just look at them to see if there's any fraying or cracking in the rubber. If you see them then it's time to change them. This pretty much applies to any vehicle.

 

Alright sounds good, is there anything I should be looking out for in terms of pulleys like if theyre running louder or something?

 

Only thing I can remember about pulley's is that when you take off the belt, you can grab hold of the pulley with your hand and shake just a little to see if you can feel any play in it. If you got play then the bearings probably went bad or going bad.

 

You should be able to push the belt in about 1/2", typically. There shouldn't be any side-to-side movement near the pulleys.

A bad belt usually squeals, it doesn't tick. A ticking sound is more likely to come from the lifters on the cylinders or maybe the wheel/axle? Does the sound speed up when you rev the engine, or is it tied to road speed?
My dad had a pickup with lifters that ticked for years and it still ran fine, but that was a long time ago.

 

When the belt is off spin all the pulleys and make sure they feel smooth and aren't making any noise. Also make sure the tensioner goes through its range of motion smoothly
