Get the OV tune. It provides exactly what you are asking about, without any headaches of engine lights, snake oil claims, or daily driver sacrifices. Ive had mine (on 2.5) well over a year, got it after seeing the folks on here running trouble free and mine has been no different. Peppier car, more grunt down low in my case, fun to wring out, no problems.

As for warranty, thats up to you, but one of the things that attracted me to this car was the lack of "major known issues" showing up on the forum, like head gasket with older subarus or major oil consumption on lots of brands. I was willing to take the risk, both of a possible issue, and even then mazda finding out about the tune. Nothing so far leads me to believe its much of a risk with this particular car and tune, have not seen one person have reliability or worse issues post tune.

I just changed my oil at 7k (29k total). Hadnt lost a drop (figuratively speaking) and old oil still looked good. Very happy with this engine and tune.

I saved 1k by opting for the manual, so i put half that towards the OV tune (my justification of course!)

Totally agree. Bang4Buck, conservative, stealth, reversible & safe.

I got the 2014 sGT with 2.5 and loved it so much, I got the 2017 GT with 2.5. Was given the 2.0 as a loaner and it really had to whine to get response from it. Big difference, so go to your dealer and drive what you don't have if you want to know the difference. For me, the bigger engine was well worth the price difference.:grin2:

Feeliq... is parts are not available in US... unless you pay a lot for shipping.

They also sell a TB spacer, that makes like 2-3hp all the way.... 151usd shipped to miami. aprox.

I sent a email to OVT if they do mail in reflash, I just need the basic derestrict map, no need to get fancy in my case... they have not replied to me. I just dont see mysef paying 520usd for my daily driver.

2018 M3 GT 2.5 (not tuned) Auto w/K&N 69 series Air Filter

So I purchased and installed a aftermarket air filter kit.

1) The 2.5L Auto makes a huge amount of low gurgling @ low rpm.
Transmission in "manual mode" likes to hover @1500-2500 Rpm.
2) Auto "sport/eco" rpms for 750-1500 loud low noise rumbling.
Original air filter box gas mileage city Average 7-9Litres/K&N 9-13Litres per 100km
3) Highway passing: OEM filter 4000-5000rpm takes 2-3 seconds
K&N filter 4000-5000rpms takes 1 second (just like in the YouTube vids)
4) K&N low end loss of power was really noticeable.

The OEM filter starts gasping for air after 4000Rpms

I reinstalled my OEM air filter system and will use the K&N for road trips.:laugh2:

In my 2.0 brought a hi flow (oem replacement), the OVT guys told me that the 2.0 oem airbox was very good..

after my first wash of the filter, the improvement was noticeable, the response much better.
The SRI is a lot better for the higher rpms and responsive 2000-5000 rpm bursts (stock/untuned). The 93 octane tune reduces the summer heat loss HP. There's a ton of messages 2015/16 Mazda 6 forums on OVT tuned vehicles. The snorkel is limited with the small opening/distance of travel.

2.5L Mazda 3 OVTune stock airbox mod, which is very comparable in performance --> SRI K&N 69-Typhoon series.

3" saw holes in each red circled area
33-2480 K&N panel filter

It will cut 1/2 the intake noise with the original air snorkel.
Original paper filter choked at 5,000rpm during the kickdown, but the K&N bounces to 6,000 quickly

I was lurking in the Mazda 6 forums OVT tuned with bearing failure.

" My 2015 was due to be paid off next month....and just got diagnosed with engine failure. Bearing in the 2nd cyclinder. Weird thing is I kept up w oil changes. Mods include OV tune, SRI, and exhaust. Other than that just some suspension/wheel stuff. Really wouldn’t have expected any of these to shorten an engine lifespan to 80k? Getting a used engine dropped in it. I did try and find a used skyactive turbo but of course none of those readily available yet. Hope this next engine w 64k"
