We didn't get Speeds for mpg. I'm getting 22-24mpg with 50/50 highway street. I fully support your SPENDing idea for all the stage 2 parts. Do it!!!

Internals and AP is def the next step. Can't do much more power mods without those cuz motor will just say goodbye to you. I did the downpipe/test pipe right after than and that's where the power is. I just recently bought a cbe AFTER my tune.

 

are internals vital for cobb ap stage 1 tune? the more I read, the more I see that internals are for stage 2 maps. all I have for 'power' mods is a SRI. nothing else.

 

You can run stage one on stock fuel internals. But stage 1 puts boost right about 17lbs. The stock pump can take nothing over 17. It's gambling in all honesty.

 

so, I could do cobb AP first and load stage 1 map and just monitor fuels pressure levels? if they go lower than 1600, than internals for sure

 

I personally wouldn't consider vital but any other power mod, def internals and AP. I ran SRI and stage 1 before internals and it was fine for me. I'm pretty sure it affects differently for everyone at different elevations too.

Only your logs will tell you if your car can handle stage 1 with no internals. I had just the CS sri/tip and had cells dipping below 1600. Flashed it to safe tune, stayed outta wot and bought internals.

You know youre gonna SPEND, so I vote option 1. Get internals and AP, then flash stage 1. I noticed the car felt a lot better with just an ots stage 1.

Thanks punkk. Been a while since I've been on here. Hope things are well with your car. I wanted the exhaust done but most people feel that the exhaust should be last on the list of mods. AP and internals should be first. Also, the AP will give noticeable gains compared to other power mods. I've been reading a lot on mods. I'm ready to pull the trigger and start modding. The mod bug has bitten. Haha.

Most likely, AP first with the JBR sri that I have. Stage 1 map. And I will see if I need internals by measuring the pressure.

I ran a stage 1 for nearly a month. Once I started with the sri and ap, the mod bug bit me hard on my next month's paycheck and bought internals downpipe to get to stage 2 haha.

 

Just remember your fuel pressure can be fine for a awhile but it could drop anytime. All it takes is for the car to run a little extra boost.

JBR intakes come with their own maps. Just have to download the stratified map onto the access port and your done

I've been looking around trying to see what would be the best llayout on the cobb ap....fuel pressure I'm sure would be very important, boost probably, but what else? intake temp?

I've been reading more and more on the stratified stage 1 map for JBR sri and there's nothing but praise. Can't wait to try it out.

It's not necessary no. It will allow faster spool and slightly better air flow but that mostly for stage 2. If you plan in going stage 2 then get it now. If not just the intake is fine.

 

I don't plan on stage 2 anytime soon. Keeping it stage 1. So I'm good. Thanks swerv

Yah when I got my TIP, spooled a little quicker from gears 1-2 and the spooling sound was a bit louder but that's about it. Don't worry about that part til you want to go into stage 2.

 

sweet. thanks pdc. That's what I'm seeing a lot of online. that I don't need it and it can cause fuel pressure loss.
