I didn't read every last comment here but for what it's worth (apologies if this has been mentioned) but my 2021 M3 premium gives me thus warning every time I wash and clean my car. Specifically, when I clean the inside and anything that requires being 'popped' open ie: front hood, gas fill lid, and trunk. Standard practice for me is to wash and clean all exterior and then open all doors to clean and dry door wells, open trunk to clean and dry the trunk well and pop fuel fill lid to clean and dry there and finally pop the front hood to clean, dry, detail that entire compartment. It never fails, every time without fail, I have this battery warning pop up. Initially, it frustrated me to no end as I just could not make sense of it. Never before had any vehicle that I've owned done such a thing - and so quickly. Then the one time I chose to disregard it just to see what would actually happen, I was unable to start my vehicle and required a jump. I should mention this was with all doors open, radio on when I still had the original factory Panasonic battery. I have since begun to heed the warning and start my vehicle while I clean the interior and never again had the problem. I also replaced the Panasonic battery. I still get the warning, just no dead battery issues for starting my vehicle when advised. I would be lying if I said that I can remember where I read this because I don't but what I read from another, and which seems to be the most likely explanation as it related to my experience is that the newer generation Mazdas have a lot of different systems to power. Anytime the security system is either deactivated by key fob (intelligent or push button), or is simply left deactivated, all of these various systems are being powered as they are designed to be 'on demand' in the sense that whatever system is called upon, that system is in a ready state. So, if the vehicle I not started, all of these systems are being battery powered in anticipation of being called upon for immediate use. With doors open, trunk up, fuel lid open, hood popped, lights and radio on, this obviously is a huge drain on the battery. This isn't to mention the security system itself, cameras, sensors, and telematics. Only when all doors have been closed, trunk closed, hood closed, fuel lid closed and security system activated does everything power down and go into a dormant state, other than what is necessary to power security and basic telematics for sending/receiving data as required. This is the best and most logical explanation that I have read as to why we receive this low battery warning. I can attest to the fact that the warning is indeed being truthful and is not a computer glitch due to my experience in requiring a 'jump' due to my battery either running too low or dying. I replaced the original factory Panasonic battery in response though I still get the warning and promptly start ny vehicle to avoid a recurrence of having a low/dead battery. I learned this a couple of years ago. Perhaps if there is more or new info on this someone can share.
