Pre 2021 models do not have that warning/protection included. I asked the dealer after my 2020 would not start due to an exhausted battery. That case was my fault, so I would have been warned on time.

Could anyone snap a picture with that warning message for me? For reasons :)

I'm glad I found this post. I took delivery of my car 3 days ago and was seeing this message. I assumed it was because the dealer allowed the battery to go completely flat. As I write this I had put the car on a battery charger a few hours ago. I'm going to let it slow charge all night.

The message isn’t warning you that the battery is dead, it’s more of a warning to close the doors, turn off the lights etc so the battery doesn’t go dead.

I bought 2021 CX-30 and got the issue after drove back home the same day. Now the alert pops up when I just open the driver door without starting it. So have to wait for Mazda to recall it? or software upgrade? The dealer can't do anything now. Will swap it to another one from dealer help? It might have the same issue on all 2021 models.

There's really no issue. The way I read the TSB, Mazda was overly cautious with the software programming. I'm thinking there will be a software update down the road.
Are Mazdas able to get over the air updates or is that just for the entertainment system?

Not sure about that, but on other forum people did report that it caused the battery drain off in 4 days driving, for a brand new car, this is a real issue.

HERE IS THE FIX: When you park your vehicle, PRIOR to shutting off the engine engage the emergency brake by pulling up on the button. I discovered this a couple of weeks ago when attempting to find the problem. The Mazda vehicle manuals state that is the procedure when parking the car, but unfortunately, the dealers thought it may be easier just to tell people to disengage the emergency brake when starting the car. That will enable the car to move after ignition, but not engaging the emergency brake when you park the car will leave the car's computer in gear, so to speak, and drain the battery. After advising my dealer they attempted it and it worked. Mazda is supposed to send out a notice to all dealers. Not sure of the status of that action.

Thank you Sue I bought my Mazda3 last week and found it very annoying. So I’ve tried your fix, I opened the door up, the noisy screen appeared and I put the handbrake on manually by pulling up the lever and voilà it worked. When I bought the car the dealer said you don’t have to worry about manually putting on the handbrake because it is automatic. Thank you for the easy fix.😁

Hi all:

I just bought a 2021 Mazda3 Turbo PP this week. This message pops up after I turn off my car and it goes away by itself. This message also pops up after I start up the car and it goes away by itself. Does anyone encountered this problem before and how you guys fix it?

Thanks

This isn't normal unless you forgot to lock your car for the past 3 days. Basically this issue is really annoying and I wonder if this can ever be fixed.

I measured the voltage of the battery with multimeter , sometimes the message can happen at 12.30 V, but other times it can go as low as 12.12 V without it happening.
So what is the 'normal' range of voltage after the car has not started for a day or two? Is 12.12 v considered normal? The car can still start though.

Also had this "temporary" message occur upon a start-up of my 3 week new '21 M3 Turbo PP.
It happened only once. Should it occur again - I will capture and share a photo of the message - then off to the dealer for warranty work
