I have a 2018 CX-3 and I would like to upgrade to CarPlay/Android Auto (I know, I am a but late to the party). I see that there are wireless CarPlay adapters. Do they still support wired Android Auto? Is wireless Android Auto a thing?

For wired AA /AC you need to update your software to 70 or later software version and then a new USB hub (~50EUR/USD). There is some disassembly involved for mounting it.
For wireless I cannot really say from experience, but from what I've red, it feels laggy over Wifi. On top of that I figured out that it will be draining battery too fast for long rides and I will have to plug it into USB anyway.
Thanks. I updated to v70 a while ago but never did the hardware update. I have watched a couple of videos and it seems within for my limited skill set.
If you are already in software version 70 you just have to change the module so that you have CarPlay and Android auto, the cheapest option would be to buy it on AliExpress, just check why they have both wired and wireless modules
I installed wireless one like one month ago on my 2014 Mazda 3.
Bought one on aliexpress for cca 90€, installation was pretty okay. It works perfectly, I was surprised that all buttons, touchscreen etc still work as intended (also NAV/Music buttons which are also connected to apple carplay/android).
