hello everyone, i have a mazda 3s hatch 2008 and i noticed that where the 4 square holes (one of them is taken by the brightness adjustement) left to the brightness adjustement there is a green plug that connects to nothing, anyone knows what it is for? what does it do? i ve added a ton of wires already (custom alarm cheap 2 programmable relays, hidden kill switch, on demand backup camera as well as it s auto when in reverse etc ask me if you want tips on those) and it kills me not knowing what that is for, maybe it s a feature that was not added (and it s just missing the switch). i am new to this forum and i have no idea if this is the right place to ask this but at least i m on the right model year section (i think)
thanks

There is no switch therefore there's obviously no manual info, there's just a plug that connects to a missing buton, an empty shell that's what I want to find out.if it was in the manual i d know about it. If you don't know the answer why bother replying?

"it s iN tHe mAnUaL", first off there is No button there just an empty shell that has a plug, secondly, even though I do have the manual and it's 400+ pages long, no, ITS NOT IN THE Manual because the car DOESN'T HAVE THE BUTTON. 2.not all manuals are the same ,different model line, different manuals. 3. The shell has a part number which corresponds with 3 switches that fit , dsc - if I had that there would be a button there and also it wouldn't have the tires making squinting noise at brutal launches, dash illumination adjustment - which I have, and headlight beam level adjustment - which the car can't have because the headlights are standard. So rather than being useless and annoying let someone else who really knows the answer reply. You could've said it's dsc or whatever you found in YOUR manual but that's not the case either way

Wow....open the manual to section 1 page 2. Its as simple as that. Switch #4 is located to the left of the dash dimmer. Its used to operated the headlight levelling system, which your car apparently does not have. However, as Mazda for the most part uses the same wiring harness for every car to make the assembly process easier, all the wiring is there. There is a dummy placeholder switch to secure the plug behind the panel. Anybody who has hacked up their wiring harness extensively should know that by now....
