So, in the 2nd post of this thread, when you say "Updates of the firmware do not bring along new features".. does that mean if I currently have 55.00.753 NA (fail safe is also .753), which has a 7in (I think) screen BUT NOT TOUCH.. then no upgrade I do would enable that screen to BECOME TOUCH?
I'm sorry, I'm obviously new.. and i know this topic is all over the place, literally and metaphorically, here on this board... but damn if it isn't hard to gather it all together.
I just wanna know if it's possible for me to update my system to have TOUCH.. amd that mute/pause would be nice.. and play videos on my screen... those 3 are basically all I'd need..
Is there a specific version I need to upgrade to or whichever is just the newest/newer that I can find? Can I jump straight to the most current version update or would I need to gradually upgrade version by version to get there?
And the easiest way possible... I just wouldn't be able to install new physical hardware.. I can do USB along with computer, etc tho.. just not run new wires or anything like that... unless that's super easy then maybe.

I am the 2nd owner.. however, the 1st owner only put maybe 100-200 miles on it before turning the lease back in... and then I got it soon after.. so I've had the car since Mar 2016. .. only has just under 50k miles.. but anyways..
I do have a couple questions. I don't wanna be too much of an annoyance by asking too many.. I'm a big "researcher", so usually I can take off with what information I do have and find out what I need.. so don't worry, I won't be "that guy" lol..
Also, I've owned the car for so long now I'm embarrassed to say that I dont remember if I've tried touchscreen while not moving.. I prob did when I first got it and have since forgotten.. but I do know I've touched the screen to check one day (prob while driving) and it didn't work, so its been in my mind that I didn't have it.. so I will check that out and atleast comment back if it works or not.
As I've said before, Mines 55.00.753 NA.
And if I understand your reply correctly, then because I'm below the 59.00.502, then I'm still capable of using USB downloads?
And if that is the case.. then should my plan be to go back and find that AIO post and download the ID7 first (so that futureproofs me from being blocked out from doing future tweaks once I upgrade past 59.00.502).
Once ID7 is installed, then I pretty much do the same for 70.00.100? (Aslong as that version provides capabilities of mute/pause and video playback, which I'm assuming will). If this is all correct then I should be good to go with figuring it out.
I dont think I necessarily need that absolute newest version. Granted idk the difference between all the different versions, which is something I can look into and find out if it's something I might wanna go ahead and do.
I dont use Navigation at all..
I just need my bluetooth and to improve to having mute/pause and video play.
If there's any information that you think is important to me in regards to this please lmk. Like something to watch out for or something like that.

And my car does NOT have working touch..
Not in Park, nor in gear with foot on the brake (AT), nor obviously driving. So I'll have to check into that more, via SSPB6.

Not a single thing happens when I go click and twisting buttons, except for move and click in the background (like apps/entertainment/settings/radio, etc).. its just ignoring the "Tweaks Selection for Autorun" screen.
I also just tried a 2nd USB with actual tweaks on it.. ans it's the same issue.. I can read the screen and see that I need to click "YES-GO ON", but my dial won't highlight to click it.
I've tried all the turning and clicking variation I can do.. except for holding down certain buttons or other cheat codes
Is it possible that if I sit here long enough, either ID7 or the other USB woth the tweaks will move forward on its own?

But what is the highest FW I can go up to that would be the last FW that's USB only capable? (USB: meaning for USB downloaded aio tweaks)
Like, is 59.00.502 the last FW that still allows me to use USB? Or would it be the V before. 502? .. like .100 I think it was.
So if that's true, then as long as I stay 59.00.100 (or whichever is the next below .502), then I can just use USB and never have to mess with serial connection.. correct?
As a refresher: I'm currently at 55.00.753 NA Mexico.. I have done ID7.. (is that what SSH is btw?). And I have played around with tweaks.. I currently have Speedometer, Changed Background, NO Disclaimer, Allow Touchscreen while driving (Even tho mine don't work), NO Reverse Canera Warning, Main Menu Loop, Pause on Mute (which only works on Video Player, not Bluetooth audio with my phone playing a movie), and I also have the Video Player.
My next plans are to figure out AA.. if I can set it up and use it without having to get the Hub. I believe I can, by connecting my phone to USB.. (even on my current FW?).
And try to figure out more about the Video Player.. because right now when I play a movie, it starts completely over each time I start up the car.. I want to see if I can have it pick up where I left off. (My touch doesn't work, I'm wondering if it did, if I could just tap the screen and skip ahead to where I left off, because right now I have to twist the knob and skip ahead like 10secs each twist).
And my last little project is to see if I can DIY fix my touchscreen by just replacing the screen or whatever it's going to take. Whether that's just the actual screen itself.. or the whole 7inch tablet. (I just missed SSPB6 by 3 months).

So this alone may answer my question. But in your "quoted" reply.. are you saying that I can have USB tweaks still be available to me, but only if I first enable that "USB allowed"setting by first using a serial connection within versions 59.00.502-70.00.100.. And then, after serial connection and setting the "USB allowed" setting to allow USB capabilities, then I can now JUST use USB.. (all of this ONLY applies if the FW is between 59.00.502-70.00.100... correct?)

Do you happen to know what size speaker are in the front doors? .. my front passenger is blown.. and in having a hell of a time finding even the OEM speakers. My car does have the Bose system.. so I was trying to find out if I do get aftermarket, if they should be near a certain watt.
I believe it's 6.5 (just circled, so just 6.5).
And I came across 2 OEM numbers and I can't tell a difference between them.. they both come up as OEM. Both are:
BHN9-66-960
GKK866960
