Addendum to above for spark plug change on 2013 Mazda 3 Skyactive 2.0L.

You need the basic tools as described in the above link (10mm deep socket, spark plug socket, extension, wrench), but the most important tool is a 14mm thin wall spark plug socket ($10 at Amazon) with magnetic like holder, so you can reach/grab the spark plug and actually hold it when retrieving and inserting it.

My car had Mazda PE5R 18110 spark plugs, but it's really NGK ILKAR7L11 spark plugs ($43 for four)

I usually apply anti-seize on the top half (away from the tips ) of the thread on the spark plug itself and apply a bit of dialectic grease on the tip of the ignition coil

BTW, #4 spark plug seems to have a minor oil leak... The tip looked ok, but it was good time to change (Odometer: 80K).
I can feel ( may be a placebo effect ) the engine responding quicker and accelerating faster.

supposedly ngk has anti seize "built into" the threads (as in presoaked in the metal or they have some fancy way to make metal not seize form temp swings) so they say not to use antiseize on ngk plugs but I don't trust that and still have and have yet to ever have any issues from using it. just thought id pass that along

There are two issues to be aware of regarding the use of anti-sieze on spark plug threads:
1) something in its "recipe" can foul the catalytic converter.
2) it acts as a lubricant, so for the same torque they will be clamped much tighter than if they were installed dry. This runs the risk of stripping threads in the aluminium cylinder head
I'm old school, and routinely used anti-sieze in the past, but I now follow the manufacturer's recommendation and leave the anti-sieze on the shelf.
Your mileage may vary. Proceed at your own risk.
