Hi all
I have HATCBACK MAZDA 3 2014
my idea is add at the standard/factory MAZDA interior and cargo light the aftermarket LED.

I tryed to connect a COB LED in parallel at the cargo light in my hatchback mazda 3.

But after connect in parallel I turn on the switch, but the MAZDA light and new LED is always OFF.

After I removed and checked the Mazda bulb and work correctly with power supply 12V.

I checked the voltage on the 2 wire of the power connector of cargo light and voltage is 6,7 volts not 12 Volts.

some questions:
1) How solve this problem ?
2) this is CAN BUS error ?
3) rear body control unit damaged ?
4) fuse damaged ,where is located the exact fuse for cargo light ?
5) other ?
6) where I find (connector & wire ) always 12 volt in the car ( the car is OFF , not ACC, and not ON ) to add the aftermarket LED , at standard MAZDA cargo light ?

My idea is add LED lights ( welcome light ) in feet area for driver & passenger and for rear passenger.
this added lights work when work the interior MAZDA light, when is open and close the door.

these is the LED

These COB light bars are so cheap and practical I installed them not only on both sides of my hatch but also above my kitchen sink connected to a motion sensor.
That's really strange that the 12v turned into 6v for you. Have you tried disconnecting the battery and let the vehicle kinda reset on itself to see if that would fix it?

I did not try to disconnect and reconnect the battery. thanks I'll try.
you have connected LEDs in parallel to the light MAZDA?
or you have taken away the light MAZDA and only connected LEDs?
The LEDs connected at the MAZDA light ( pin connector 4P 4 F) ? or they are fed from another source?
As it absorbs your LED? 3W 5W 7W other?

I used a dumb bulb to replace the factory halogen bulb to tap into the original light bulb socket and use the wires coming out of the dumb bulb to connect the two light bars in parallel, so I did not use the 4P 4F connectors you mentioned. I don't know what the power rating is for the light bar but judging from the light output it's probably lower than 3W for the two of them. For sure not over 5W.
