I have tried several SD cards in my new 2025 Mazda 3 There is not response at all. Tried putting in my card from my 2017 to see if I would at least get an error message but I get nothing. If you put wrong Nav card in should the CMU at least give a message? Is there a diagnostic test for Gen 7 to verify if SD slot is working? Any ideas?

It seems like the SD slot might not be working properly if you're not getting any response. Try checking if there's a diagnostic test for your car's CMU system. If you need help with SIM registration or TM PUK code, you can visit TM PUK Code.

Option 1. Check if the card's Read Only switch is set to OFF (it should be OFF).

Option 2. Insert an empty card and remove it after a few minutes. There should be some folders and files on it. If that is the case, the multimedia, the cable and the card reader work just fine.

Option 3. Insert the card into a computer connected card reader and see what's on it.

1) Card is not Locked
2) Put a empty card in nothing is written to the card. Tried on 2017 Nothing written to the card either. All I have is a 256G card so may be to large I will look for one of my 16G cards and try again.
3) There is files in 2 Folders MAP and Telenav resources. Mazda Toolbox does not recongnize the SD card. Not sure if they have to connect to car first before Mazda Tool Box will see the card.

This. When I took delivery of mine, as part of the last 10 minutes of the process we did new-car orientation (set up phone, etc.) and the salesman simply opened it up and installed it for me and it was ready to go (even though I didn't care about OEM nav anyway because of Android Auto).

Contact your salesman...or even go there on a slow day (midday during the week in case he/she is busy on busy weekends) and if he/she isn't busy and wants a good review from you, he/she would hopefully hop in the car and give it a go.

I bought it from Amazon. Easy return if they are defective. Mazda Toolbox does not recognize the card when I stuck it in the reader. I guess that means bad or fake card. I read that Telenav started providing maps in Europe, Australia and New Zealand but I did not see mention of North America, Canada or Mexico
