I just had an amplifier installing on my mazda with I-eloop system.

I did warn the car audio shop about the I-eloop system. And it did not pop up untill I drove off.

Now i'm getting Charging system failure. take it to a dealer msg.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks for the reply. The I-ELOOP system started working fine the next morning. I think they just ran the battery down some when they were installing my amp. They said it took 6 hours for 3 guys "lack of work in the shop i think".

I'm thinking on changing the battery out now. I'm thinking of the yellow top optima, but i'm not sure if it will give me problems. I called optima and they said they do not have a battery that will fill the same specs as the Q85 Battery. Even though you can look and find batteries in there online website that say they will work. They do not ask if your car has I-ElOOP when selecting batteries with the website.

I'm thinking it might still work just looking for someone else that has tried this first. Anything that the I-ELOOP detects as not normal It kicks it off. Including a battery that was slightly ran down from playing a radio to long with the engine off.

I haven't tried an Optima or a Bosch AGM myself, but I've read posts by others who said they did with success. But no guarantees of course. However you can read about all these battery types online; the technology is not Mazda-specific, and Mazda doesn't make batteries anyway. Q85 is just an "enhanced flooded lead-acid battery". It's not AGM. AGM is better than flooded batteries in every way except cost.

Here's some links:
https://no.co/blog/understanding-the-types-of-lead-acid-batteries
https://www.yuasa.co.uk/info/technical/agm-efb-explained/ (see the first two questions in the FAQ at the bottom)

EFB batteries are just a cheap compromise; they're not as good as AGM(/AGM+) batteries.

Also, I'd recommend checking the water levels in your battery. The Q85 in my 2015 had a couple of low cells when I checked it about 6 months ago. Make sure to refill it carefully with only distilled water. You might be able to get more life out of it that way.
