Ello everybody, I'm driving a 2011 manual GT-S Mazda 3 and I've been on the market for a good shifter for a while now. I was hoping you guys could provide some guidance as to the best ones for the job.

I was looking at TWM, momo and a few others but haven't found what I'm looking for. The TWM's are all too heavy and the momo's aren't custom fit. I'd like a light weight that is fit to the 3, that way I don't have to deal with fitment issues or loosening set screws. =O

I really like that notchy feeling of hitting each gear and I have heard that heavy knobs can feel a bit numb in that department, but I haven't tested any out to be sure. What do you guys think? I really don't have a preference for weight, I just want the most notchy tactile feedback possible in a metal knob that looks decent. I've been on google searching for days and I admit defeat, help me out! lol

Thanks!

People like the Cobb knob. It's light. Not sure if metal though

Ive used light shift knobs before and it always felt that im not hitting the gears all the way... The heavier knobs tends to be more smoother on shifts

Thanks for the help. I'll take this into consideration and maybe start looking into some medium weight or heavy knobs again.

I've got both the Cobb Knob and the JBR heavy shift knob. The Cobb knob is nice feeling, with its smooth roundness, but I prefer the JBR for it's weight and it feels like it just flies into gear.
The Cobb Knob looks interesting, and it's reasonably priced. I like the industrial look of the JBRs though. Thanks for the suggestions!

I'd totally make a golf ball one! Light and shorter throws! Doesn't come loose!
My brother is an avid golfer... Maybe. lol. It would certainly be unique!

In all seriousness, I'm breaking out the drill on a brand-new golf ball right now, lol. =D It should be a cool hold-over until I decide on a knob to buy.

I've loved mine ever since. It's awesome. I assume you know that youtube is the best way to go with instructions.
