I have a 2017 GT and I've procured a set of Gen 1 17" wheels (free) for my winter set. I'm interested if anyone has run a 215/55-17 for their winters. The selection for 205/55 is very limited (perhaps due to time of year?) and 215/55 has a better selection. I would rather not run the 215/50 as it's a tad smaller in radius.

So has anyone run the 215/55? Pictures and any issues?

The miata tire calculator for some sizes is:

Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
215/45-18 3.8in 12.8in 25.6in 80.5in 787 0.0%
205/55-17 4.4in 12.9in 25.9in 81.3in 779 1.0%
215/50-17 4.2in 12.7in 25.5in 80.0in 792 -0.6%
215/55-17 4.7in 13.2in 26.3in 82.7in 767 2.7%
205/60-17 4.8in 13.3in 26.7in 83.8in 756 4.2%

I just installed a set of 215/55R17" tires on my 17 2.5 touring. I used 7x17" wheels with a +35 offset. I think this size fits the car very well. I have no issues, although I wish I had a little more offset to keep the tires inside the fender a little better.
