Hey everyone, this is my first post so I apologize in advance if this has been asked already or if I'm posting in the wrong area.

I'm planning on purchasing a 2015 Mazda 3 GS in Jet Black Mica at the end of June (it will be my first car). I would like to get the windows tinted but I don't know much about it and was hoping you could point me in the right direction.

1) I live just outside of Toronto, Ontario - Canada and from what I can find...there is no "legal limit" in terms of tint percentage for my province. What percentage would you suggest I go to have it look good but also avoid discretionary stops by the cops and avoid tickets?

2) This goes along with my first question but should I stick with the same percentage for all windows or have the front and back differ?

3) Is there a certain type of tint that I should avoid/is there a type that I should look for? I'm not even sure if there are different types.

4) What should I expect to pay to have it done? (There are so many places popping up and I would just like to have an expectation going into it so I don't get ripped off)

5) Finally, if you are from my area...do you have any suggestions of a good place to have it done/what should I be looking for (other than reviews) to determine if I should use that spot?

Thank you for any information! It's greatly appreciated!

I have to book an appointment with a tint shop near where I work. I plan on going 35% ceramic window tint. As 20% is too dark for me to see through at night. Even though I have had 20% before, I just find it too dark.
I had 35% on my previous car and I was happy with it.
I live outside Toronto and I have never had a problem with Peel police, as long as the front windshield is not tinted.

Thanks for the info! I really appreciate it.

I watched some videos on YouTube and 35% looked the best to me too..one guy said he had 20% and has to put the window down and look out to back up.

So I shouldn't have the front windshield tinted? Or will 35% be good all around? I like the look of the same % all the way around too.

Thanks again!

I put 35% tint on my last car and really regretted it not being darker, so I put 20% on my 3. I'm also in Ontario and have yet to have any problems with it. I also put 20% on my dads car as well.

20% isn't that dark and you can see fine out of it at night.

Hey, thanks for the info! Is it possible to go in between those percentages...like 30% or 25% or do they usually only make the tint in certain percentages?

Anywhere you recommend or have heard good things about in ON?

Thanks again!

I have 20% all around on mine as well. I've gotten ticketed once so far for my front windows being tinted but I got pulled over for my blue lights so I assume I'd not gotten the tint ticket if I'd had my blue halos off.
I just gave them a reason to look more closely. Oh well...
20% is not too dark, I can see out my back fine at night and don't need to roll down my windows.

I have 5% rears and 20% fronts. I've had only 2 tickets in all the years I've been driving, and that includes when I had 5% all the way.
