Hi I have a 2014 maZDA 3 but here "unfortunately" it comes with the 1600cc MZR engine.

I have OEM 16in alloys with 205/60R16

Im planning to go for 18in * 8 alloys, ET 45. im unsure to go for 215/45r18 or 225/45R18? I wouldnt want the wheels to be too heavy for the 1600cc engine which has only 105 HP and 145 NM of torque.

Any guidance from you friends would be very helpful. thks

What?

I have 17x8 with 245/45/17. Find whatever tire size maintains the original diameter or you will throw off your gearing and speedometer. No they won't be too heavy unless you get super cheap or gaudy wheels.

Thks friend. I have started the research.

I have 205/60R16 on OEM 16in alloys. Normally following the conversion, i should have gone for 225/40R18. But here our roads are so shiit, that some additional sidewall would be nice, thats y i was thinking for 225/45R18 tyres.

My only previous concern was whether with the additional weight of the 18ch alloys and 225/45R18 or 225/40R18 tyres, the acceleration would take a big hit making the car feel heavy, esp as i have the lower powered 1600cc MZR engine.
