What is the fastest that you all have gotten your 2014+ Mazda3?

On a track, of course ;)

I have a 2017 GT 5-door, the quickest that I've been able to go was 107mph before I hit a corner and had to decelerate. What about you all? I've heard that there is a governor at 120mph? Is this true? If so, can it be removed?

Highest I remember I've seen myself go forsure was 117 but I'm almost sure it's been in the mid 120s for a few seconds

The fastest I've gotten it is 117, but I haven't really tested it's max speed.

I guess I have some testing to do. :)

I think the fastest I've gone on my 2.0HB was around 105 (MPH) very briefly.. was not on a track, so not doing that again haha.

You could hardly tell that you were going so fast other than the wind noise. These cars handle frightfully well at higher speeds. I'm sure it could go much faster, but I don't want to get wrecked (by an $800 speeding ticket) lol.

A few days ago and a few miles away from where I live, a car was clocked at 280 mph. Lots of open road in Nevada. But NHP uses instant on radar. Hitting 100 is not too tough. I chicken out at about 110.

The 2.5 L top speed with the speed limiter is 129 wheel speed. With it removed I have hit 148 (GPS confirmed). I have roof racks too which limit my stop speed probably by a few mph.

is there any way that i could inquire exactly how you removed the limiter? for research purposes, of course

A tune should be able to do it. Increased my rev limiter to 6600 with OVT. Apparently our ECU cuts fuel at 6800 anyway so anything past that is pointless. **On the 2.5L at least**

is there any way we could hear from the dude who voted that he/she went 150+? i feel like that's not only unrealistic but also somewhat of a death sentence in our cars haha

Of course I haven't even had it 2 full days yet

But I got to 103 pretty easy today, will probably top it out once I make sure how the suspension handles hills, oops I mean corners....ummmm at the track of course. My stock 2006 Hyundai Sonata would do 105 pretty easy before it started shaking though, 103 was smooth as silk in the new 3 2.5 hatch. The Sonata also would lift and bottom on the hills, oops I mean corners....ummmm at the track of course.

You don't want to remove the rev limiter. You can get the limit increased to about 7200, but thats it. Any more is not only pointless but can start breaking things. The valve springs won't handle anything past 7500, at which point valve float starts to happen. Then pistons can start slapping the valves, the springs can break etc.

I think he was talking about the speed limiter not the rev limiter.
