Hello everyone,
My name's Nicolas. I live in France and I bought a Mazda 3 Hatchback there is few month.
My english is really not perfect and I'm sorry for that.
I've read some of your thread in order to find an answer to my question but I didn't find a real good answer that can confirm my situation.
Explanation:
My car is equipped with original Rim/Wheel as detailled below
Wheel : 215 / 45 / 18
Rim : width : 7" / offset : 50
I would like to change my rim be new ones (I won't lower my car) but I'm afraid to choose a new rim which could touch the wheel arch or touch inside the wheel arch (When you make a Uturn for example).
Many of rim are sold with the caracteristic as below
Rim : With 8" / Offset : 40
I've make some simulations by calculation and the new rim shouldn't touch inside the wheel arch when I'll make a Uturn but the wheel/rim should be moved outward by 23 mm of this one !!!
And for me it's not good and my wheel should touch my wheel arch and definitly be out of my wheel arch. (Not authorized in France ...)
When I took a look your forum, some of yours seems having equipped their cars with similar rim but it's not specified or the picture do not let me know if the rim stay inside the wheel arch or just limit.
Do you have an example or have some detail to offer me about my situation.
I continue to investigate from my side but you seem to know a lot about this point.
Thanks by advance
I hope my english was clear.
Have a nice day
