Warranty, so what?

Warranty is what, 3/36. Just thinking here, I want to mod my car, intake, exhaust and tune, which will probably void warranty, but what will go wrong that it will matter. Cars today are made pretty well aren’t they? The probability of needing warranty work is pretty slim isin’t it? I cannot imagine waiting 3 years before I do these mods, am I really risking a huge bill for something failing, what would be likely to fail?

And if what I do does cause the fail, well then them the brakes, you play you pay.

If the dealer can prove that the modification you did caused the malfunction that would be covered under warranty, they can refuse to service it under warranty. They would have a hard time proving that your aftermarket body kit, for example, caused compression loss in your engine. It's their burden of proof, if they don't have proof, then they would much rather honor the warranty then have a lawsuit on their hands. Intake, exhaust and tune wouldn't outright void the whole warranty, but anything that could be caused by those could be refused coverage, but they would still have to prove your mods caused the issue.

I've had mine all of 5 days and I've already created a Nav SD card (cost me 12 bucks), Modded the infotainment system (a little, more to come I'm sure) and I have been planning my de-badge/re-badge. I would have already been messing with the engine tune if my current software (HPTuners) supported Mazda. I have a history of voiding warrantys day 1. Knock on wood, I've never been denied service despite my best efforts to void the crap outa that thing.
