You can play with vvt and timing on your Mazdaspeed. The only way to do it is to buy a Cobb AP. The AP gives you access to the tables. There are big hp gains to be had adjusting the timing tables on this car. The gains are very limited playing with the vvt tables. The grind on our cams is such that all power is directed to mid and low rpm's. There is just nothing to be had at higher rpm's with the vvt tables. Many people have tried with poor results.

If your feeling your car isn't running real well or you lost power somewhere in the power band it's because your bolting on aftermarket parts and not changing the tune to compliment them. Get an Accessport.

Here's a pic of the stock vvt table. You can see that after 4500 rpm's it basically just stops advancing the cams.
