How do we bypass the security feature that turns off the video playback once driving.. Please save me all the lectures about safety. I have a 1hr 30 min drive each way to work twice a day with nothing but cows to look at. So I will watch on my phone but would be nice to have it on the bigger screen. Thanks in advance.

I have just tested this, like 1 minute ago, I was able to reverse and forward again and the video kept on playing. Not sure though if it would stop if I drove past a certain speed though. If only netflix supported android auto :D

Confirm it disabled itself once I got to about 10mph

Anyone further tested this on supported file formats. It doesn't support MKV, but works with all MP4 files i've thrown at it. It also appears to support AVI but can't find the supported codec, but it deffo supports the container.

Shame it can't display them full screen, widescreen, letterbox, panscan setting are still limited to a central column.

I've started to fill a small 2.5" HDD with video files. Great when I have to wait around in service stations or waiting to pick the kids up. I wonder if it supports surround sound :D

While I will not use it to watch videos while driving, I too am looking to eliminate the block stopping us from using the system while driving. In my 2015 Mazda3, a simple YouTube video showed me how to fix it. Now, in the 2019, I can't even find a stinking gas station while driving! (beyond the few it lists on the screen)

I am sure it will come soon enough one people breakdown the firmware and we start to see custom firmwares. It may also simply be a case of unplugging a cable... I had the same system sold by Pioneer (its the same system just this one badged Mazda) and that had a simple connection it used to detect when the car ignition was on and in motion. Just unplugged it and it was that simple.
