I recently updated the Artist tag info for all of my MP3's, as some was incorrect.
However, Mazda Connect keeps showing the old info, not the new.
Is there a database stored in the MCU itself that needs to be deleted in order to create a new one from the modified USB stick?
I checked the stick to make sure there are no hidden files. So, it's not that.
Could the files themselves have retained the old info, even though my tag editor doesn't show it?
TIA.

I mention some useful utilities you can use to check the MP3 tags. It seems MZD Connect caches data from the USB stick. Note my trick of renaming the top level directory on the USB stick to ensure MZD Connect refreshes its data.

Thanks. I had a feeling the MCU cached the data.
I already tried renaming the stick itself, which didn't work. I hadn't thought of the top level directory! Maybe because I have two top level folders, one each for my wife and me. I'll add a new top level folder, and put our two folders into that, and see if it works.
BTW, I had already DL'd it, but haven't had the time to read it. I'll do it post haste and forthwith.

Hey guys,
The top level folder trick does work but has anyone ever figured out a way to force the same CMU data update without changing anything on the USB stick? A way to force reread/catalog the current stick contents? For some reason, my system just had a glitch right after fueling up and restarting and lost all artist/album/genres tags... Couldn't fix it until I had access to a PC to change the folder structure on the stick... There has to be a way through the interface???
