I'm driving a Mazda 2 DJ, but that's likely not relevant, as the CMU is the same between this and the 3.

As of some days ago, my left speakers were suddenly much quieter, but got louder randomly.

This morning, the right speakers were completely dead for the first 5 mins of driving, then started up again.

The weirdest part is that this ONLY occurs with USB. FM radio, navigation voice, all is fine on both sides. It's ONLY USB, and unrelated so specific songs or anything.

Any ideas?

I would say it's the quality gain in the mp3 recordings.

Nope. This is happening on files that played perfectly fine 2 weeks ago (I never removed the stick in between either). It also changes, sometimes the same song plays fine, sometimes it doesn't.
It also seems to change sometimes when I drive over a bump, so it sounds more like a wiring issue, but I doubt there's USB audio routed seperately from i.e. the navigation voice.

But that wouldn't explain why it only happens for USB? I can switch back and forth between FM and USB and the sound will switch just the same, off/quiet on USB and fine on both sides on FM.

I tested it with Bluetooth today and have the same issue. It also appears that when I get sound from the left side, it only comes from the small tweeter, not the door speaker. Is there some sort of frequency splitter in the audio system, outside of the CMU, that could be having issues?
