Mazda made it possible to have touchscreen enabled during motion in Android Auto for the CX-50. All that "rotary dial is much safer" argument becomes meaningless in retrospect for all other Mazda cars that are not the CX-50. Wonder how easy/difficult it would be for them to make them change available generally to all models in a future firmware update. Here's a screenshot (bold font at the bottom)
