Where do I find the size of my tire? How do I know what the speed rating is?

These are just a couple of common questions we field from our customers and rightfully so. A tire's sidewall contains a plethora of markings with letters, numbers, and even codes. It's these alphanumeric markings that tell you important information about the tire such as construction, age, and type.

For more on what these numbers and letters mean and where to find them on your tire, check out the overview linked below.

Exactly....So when Mr. Discount Tire sells you a set of "new" tires make sure you have them pull the tires and confirm the age for you before they install so you know exactly how old they are? Of course they will try to pull the oldest tire. Just keep in mind that they may not have your tires on site and will have to pull from the local warehouse or another store...but you can still have them confirm age of tire with remote location over phone or give the shop an acceptable date range...within one year is absolutely fine to request. There is nothing wrong with asking for age of new tires since this is one of the reasons tire and wheel shops tell you and advertise that you need new tires.
