I'm having a couple challenges with the procedure. Would someone mind to provide me some feedback on the below?

- I copied the two firmwares and went to my Mazda's "hidden" system menu option 99, tried to apply the firmware. The failsafe applied successfully whereas the reinstall is giving me an "cannot validate certificate" error message! Am I missing something? I tried downloading the file again and got the same error.
- Besides extracting and copying the tweaks files to the root directory of my USB key and plugging it, do I have to "trigger" its execution with something or does it happen automatically after some time? Can't seem to get anything running.

Ok this is the final tweaks file for applying the basic hacks:

I've shortened the time it takes to execute by bypassing all the other logs and added a dialog that lets you know when the tweaks have been applied. Afterwards check your command_line.log file for something like this:
Setting Speed Restriction Configuration to 'disable'
Setting BUS_BCM Speed Restriction Configuration to 'disable'

that means it worked.

Working on getting a plug and run background changer. someone else may beat me too it as its easy peasy.

Excuse the delay in answering your question.

Suppose you have 1 mp3 on your USB, Mazda will identify another mp3 from the mp4 file, play and pause it, then run the line (code/script?). Tell us if it works.

The only way I know to stop the mp4, is by Ctrl+C. haha

Someone should run a JS file comparison to see what bugs were fixed. I checked the build and the p@ssword is still good.

(just copy all in zip file to usb and plug it into running infotainment, wait for like 10 min until you see a screen that says its done).


This obviously is due to the major effort you guys play here, lets keep digging and keep making great stuff.
* disclaimer, the auto tweak file is just a sh file "tweaks.sh" that has line by line the tweaks, you can remove the ones you dont want. Also dont run it if you've already applied these hacks, it should be done on new installs. I would like to point out that this can be made far more user friendly by echoing out the results from the tweak command calls to a jci dialog so that you know what completed or didnt. I didnt put any time into making it, just didnt feel like connecting the car to the laptop again.

And finally. I am not responsible for anything you do with these files.

You guys always be notice the two files.
jci/settings/config​ration​s​/m​az_​cmu-root.xml and ​blm_settings-system.xml
​These file​s​ assign​(set)​ your​ ​region,​ ​language,​ ​and ​a lot of ​vehicle settings​ infomations​ from MMUI messages.
​(and also set navi voice from which speaker )​
​Region ex​.​) NA is ​2​ , JP is 5

In order changes in this file to take effect,
the /mnt/data/com/jci/cpp/settings/XXXXXXXX.bin file should be removed and the system should be reboot.

Every time your trying to play the video, it changes the Name from /mnt/sdb1 to sdc1 sdd1 sde1 and on. if you reboot the system it goes back to /mnt/sdb1.

2 chmod 755 /jci/gui/apps/system/js/systemApp.js

And now reboot the system and the disclaimer will not show?
where would I add this in the script ( 100MS ) if I manual add it in ?

Also with the Video not working. I was able to use IPHONE,HOTSPOT,ITERMINAL,IP & I'm in. From there I put the code in to play the video but when I disconnected from HotSpot or terminal it stops the Video. Something with maybe a ping back and forth needs to be stopped. Also found that every time you play a video the sdb1 changes and starts going up. Having the sd?1 does not work for me. Also best to make your videos 1,2,3,4,5 instead of the full name.

I just ask because my car is very picky about the usb drive I use for my updates. For whatever reason, with each update, I have to give it a fresh full format, copy the files and go straight to the car. If I modify anything on the USB drive, my car will probably throw crap at me.
