Map navigation in Mazda 6 2016

Hello guys I read nearly all pages of this forum. I see there are much talking about some themes but still I didn't manage to find clear answers to some questions or guides how to do some of the stuff. :detective:

So:
1. What are chances that mazda3hacks work on Mazda 6 2016 head unit?

2. If I have access to some original Mazda car SD Card Map (that is not locked) is it possible to create a copy of it so it's copy can be used in some other Mazdacar.
similar to this MazdaConnect Navigation sdcard infinite copies
Where I can find a step by step guide how to do it?
(Linux kernel, here maps)

3. Alternative to expencive Mazda SD Card Map, is it possible to use Google Maps, iGo or any other map software ? Where I can find a step by step guide how to do it? :confused013:

Thanks.

I can answer #1 . I'm 99% you can. I did it on mine. :)

Ever since updating to v55 (650 and 750), the fuel monitor only keeps the last 2 averages in the bar graph (I've tried resetting the sync option). On v33, all 6 averages would be displayed in the bar graph.

Also, when choosing an album from my USB, the songs are not in order (neither track number nor alphabetical). On v33, the songs would be in track order (unless I used voice commands, then it would play alphabetically which was also annoying).

Anyone notice these issues, or is it just me?

When I turn on the car, navigation is stuck in my "Home" location when the car is stationary, even though GPS info shows full satellite visibility. Is that normal? This is a pain as I cannot look at the route until I start moving!!

EDIT: I am on the latest V55 750B firmware - North America 2016 Mazda 6.

You can not (confirmed on OpenCar support Forum before it was brought down). Hopefully, Mazda Connect will switch over from JCI to OpenCar framework in a future update.
Wait...so this info is incorrect? From Mazda3Hacks:

At the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the Mazda Infotainment system for the 2014 Mazda3 was featured as part of the “OpenCar SDK” for app development. It was announced that “Mazda has partnered with OpenCar to develop an App platform enabling developers to create automotive grade apps without having to have knowledge about Mazda's requirements with regard to safety and HMI.”
Does this mean I signed up for an account with OpenCar for no reason? (At least, for now?)

If I want to develop apps for my 2015 Mazda3, what should I start with?

Yes and yes. Unfortunately, OpenCar support mentioned (in the now defunct forum) that the apps are not backward compatible with current Mazda Connect software, but it means that the apps will be compatible without any additional work if Mazda switches over to OpenCar framework in the future. So far, there is no indication of this other than a Visteon (OE supplier to Mazda) youtube video released back in March showing OpenCar demo running on a Mazda CX-5.

Best for flyandi to answer that. The current JCI framework makes it very difficult to add any new custom apps. You need to modify SystemApps.js. Any mistakes and you will end up in boot loop (unless you disable that)

Well...blergh. I'll get in touch with flyandi about it. I'm definitely interested in tapping in to this and seeing what can be done.

If you have time get the update to gracenote. Install on car but interrupt it half way so it does not load, It will disable it for the mean time. Worked for me...

I never use the Fuel Monitor just the one in the dash per drive.

I've tried that several times, but for some reason on v55, the gracenote update does not move past 0%, it just says unsuccessful then restarts. I've reformatted the flash drive to fat32 and tried a fresh gracenote file and it still fails. I'll try a different flash drive.

Hi everyone. I performed this update (55.750) on our 2016 cx5 GT with tech. Now skipping favorites station with the buttons on the steering wheel are noticeably slower. Anyone else experience this? Any suggestions for a fix? On version 51 they were near instantaneous.

So i tried with a different flash drive and I was able to successfully interrupt the gracenote update but it didn't resolve the issue with albums playing out of order. *sigh*

Has anyone delved into the stock HD traffic app that uses Total Traffic for info? Would be nice if a zoom function was able to see actual traffic. I know the live traffic updates are disabled in the USA because of licensing or something like that but it would be nice to get something better than an overall map of an area.

There's some interesting info regarding the next version of the infotainment software over on reddit: Infotainment Update and Information. From what that guy is saying, v60 should be out in a few weeks, and will have support for Android Auto and CarPlay, but will also lock it down so you can no longer access via SSH.
that is very interesting news. The OP, yandreev3, used to be very active in this thread months ago and then he was banned by a mod as seen here: http://mazda3revolution.com/forums/...da-3-skyactiv-audio-electronics/57714-infotainment-project-158.html#post1291042

Even though ssh might be locked out, hopefully we can still apply tweaks using the usb-auto-run tool.
