Started messing with this again and I'm having a weird problem - I can't seem to be able to edit the filesystem, neither via ssh, nor via the update script. All write operations return "read only filesystem". This hasn't happened before with the same script. I'm on 56.00.230 EU and have used the temp-ssh script to gain ssh access.
Erm, the filesystem is normally mounted read-only. All the update scripts I've seen remount it read-write as one of the first steps (and most don't remount it back to read-only at the end, which I consider a mistake, but I guess they expect you to reboot right away for the changes to take effect, so it's not a big deal). Anyway, type the following via ssh to make the filesystem writable:

Code:
mount -o remount,rw /
