So.....trying to stay out of trouble again, I need to find a new hobby that doesn't involve money cuz I just drove to Cobb and then walked out with a Cobb AP V3, autotech HPFP internals AND Cobb downpipe!.......needless to say I'll be eating ramen noodles for some time lol.

Anyhow, anybody have any tips for installing the downpipe? I looked at the instructions and reading other people's install review and apparently the bolts that is connected to the turbo and the O2 sensor that is a PITA to get out so any tips for those stubborn items that would be awesome :)

Nice! PB blaster the bolts the night before and again in the morning before you start.
Thanks for the tip :) .......did you have to buy a new turbo to downpipe gasket and bolts by any chance? Can the O2 sensor be saved or shall I just get a new one?

Cobb should have a gasket included.

PB Blast the shit out of everything. Get anti-seize. Lots of beers next to you. An extra person would def help. Try to get the car as high as possible. Extensions and swivel sockets will be your best friends.

I reused the gasket. A new one was like $80. The top O2 sensor was a little difficult. Just take you time with it and keep PB Blasting it. It'll come out. The 2nd sensor is easier, just because you'll have better access to it. It took me all day, with the help of @My spoon is too big to put mine in. Extensions and wobble sockets are your friends.

Good luck with install. Been wanting to check Cobb out but that's the very reason I won't go. Don't know how long I can hold out? wife will Definitely need a new piece of jewelry before I step foot inside haha.

Imagine how hard it is working for a Mazda Performance Parts specialist and owning a MS3 is! I bet the guys at Cobb have it just as hard. I might as well just quit getting paychecks!

LOL, at least you get some kind of employee discount to ease the pain. Most of the time we have to pay MSRP.

Yup they're here in SoCal. Going there in two weeks to pickup my new intercooler from them too.

I placed the order about a day or two ago and it should be here next week. I wanted the one with the blue silicone couplings and they only had black. I have a few projects in between that so I won't be able to make a drive over there for about two weeks anyways. Just trying to gather all the power mods I want before I get a tune.

Internals install was a lot easier than I anticipated, me and steelrain tackled it and neither of us had experience with this so it's pretty straight forward.

Downpipe haven't gotten around doing it, only have half a day per weekend do my projects and the rest of the days I'm pretty much working. I think I'm gonna attempt it next weekend cuz I won't receive my 3" intake til the 2nd week of October. I wish there are more pictures on the internet of the DP install.
