Hello,

I own a 2004 mazda3 s hatch with 140K and it's making a loud squealing noise upon starting my car in the morning and after work and a sort of chirping while accelerating. I have narrowed it down to the AC pulley however it's looking like it's not the belt but maybe the whole compressor unit? I don't know much about compressor units but I know it might be expensive...also my AC is still working. Wondering if anyone else has had these issues before with squealing noise coming from serpentine belt area?

Many mods to come including Corksport CBE, Corksport Short ram intake, enkei wheels...etc the list could go for days

Welcome aboard.

Are you sure it's not the idler pulley?

Thanks man! Happy to be part of the zoom zoom culture.

I'm not 100% sure in any direction, I sprayed some pb blaster on the AC pulley itself and the noise seemed to subside very temporarily. Drove down the road it was chirping away again within 5 minutes. If it was the idler then what do you suggest I do to be certain it is?
