No sign of Skyactiv X yet on the UK Mazda site. Only the hatchback Mazda 3 is available with either the 2 litre Skyactiv G engine or 1.8 diesel engine.

They are charging a 900 Euro premium over their existing 2.0l. With the high gas prices in Europe this would seem to be an automatic upgrade for them, while providing more performance.

Something wrong here, in Hungary the extra price for the X engine is 3.000,- Euro with the same trim. Another question is the service cost difference, it will be more higher for the complicated engine X for sure...

That's not entirely correct, in Hungary the X181's minimum trim (GT) includes the Style option compared to the G122's base trim, and the package is more than 1k EUR itself.

Service will be definitely more expensive, for example the X's spark plugs need to be replaced every 120.000 kms... I guess that won't be a cheap round.

The € 900 for NL is correct but not the whole story. In addition to a VAT of 21%, there is also a Co2 dependent tax. On the G112 MA there is approximately € 4000 and the AT € 6000 tax. If the new X-engine emits about 1/3 less Co2, the Co2 tax will halve. The higher price for the x-engine is around € 3750, but the final price with all taxes rises to the mentioned € 900. By the way in NL you can get this engine with al thrims, also the basemodel.
