I found some OEM light weight 16x8 93RX7 wheels local to me, its very tempting, but would they clear oem suspension? Its a 50 offset and 16x8 is pretty wide, tires going on there are 225/50/R16's but Im thinking it might just fit.

Should fit ok. There is a fair bit of clearance between the tire and the shock. Those RX-7 rims will only be about 3/4" closer, not really a problem. If there is any doubt, just take a couple quick measurements at the front and rear.

The one thing I have been reading about is that these lightweight magnesium wheels(specifically these RX7 rims) have been prone to cracking at the spokes. If I decide to do this then I will have to inspect them very very carefully before buying them.
