Hey guys, I have a 2016 mazda 3 hatchback isport currently with the stock 16" steel wheels (16x6.5 with 50mm offset). I am looking to upgrade wheels and have found a deal on some 2004 rx8 wheels. They are 16x7.5 with a 45mm offsett. I believe I have done the math correct, but wanted to know if someone else has a similar sized wheel or knows if this will fit. I have seen them on a post on here on a 2010 mazda 3, but not this gen of mazdas. I am just looking for verification that these will indeed fit before I buy these. Any help will be great. Thanks!

I have a set of RX8 wheels on my 15 hatch. I am running 225 45 18. The car handles much better with this set up, than the stock 16 it came with

They made some 16x7.5 rx-8 wheels. Barely anyone knows they exist. These came off of a 2004.

Bought some DWS 06 and mounted onto the wheels today. Love the new look and handling has definitely improved! Looking forward to many more fun miles to come.

I recently got a set of the 18 x 8 , 50 offset RX8 5 spoke. I have a 2011 i-sport sedan with stock height. Will i be fine running 225/45/18? the side wall of 225/40 is too low for my taste.

Thread revival!

I bought a set of the beat up rx-8 wheels last week. Running the 225/45/18s that came with them. Ride is a bit rougher than the stock 16 alloys. Also weight is a concern. Weighing in 10 pounds more that the stock tire/wheel. Stock was ~40 lbs and rx-8 is ~50 lbs. I love the look though.

I need to decide what set to buy summer tires for autocross. Leaning towards the light weight 16s with 205/55/16.

for auto-x I'd get the lightest wheel you can find to aid in transitional response.
For tires, will they be solo only or summer kick around as well?

Depends what set the tires would go on. The stock alloy 16s would have to be solo only since the speedometer would be substantially off with 205/55/16 tires. Budget is also a concern which is why I bought the rx-8 wheels. I'm not ready to dump $1000+ into auto X just yet.
