Hello Guys
I don't know if I am the only one with rust issues but this will be the fourth time that I need a rust fix by the dealer.
the previous time were in the back of the car but now this is pretty everywhere.
Car has 38 000kms.
Car was purchased in November 2013
Anyone in the same situation ?
Cheers

Yikes! I had rust bubbling all over the roof of my 2011 3. Complained at length to the dealer but it isn't under warranty and they maintained that it was caused by rock chips (on my roof?). They did give me a discount to get it fixed, paid 500 bucks to get the roof repainted and no recurrence yet. I feel your pain. Is the dealer charging you to fix it?

yeah most probably Mazda will cover it under warranty, but this is not solving the main issue.
2014 car shouldn't rust in 3.5 years

Ok i have a 2014 sedan too just interested to see in which location i should be on the look out for as it supposedly is a problem in the sedans. Also do you live up north with heavy
winters or?

I noticed a bit of rust forming on the flange where the upper portion of the trunk gasket is attached (on the chassis, not the trunk lid). I haven't looked at it closely yet, but i noticed it the other day. This on a 2016 sedan.

Sounds exactly like what i've recently dealt with, enough so that i'll probably get rid of my 3 once warranty is up.

After all, the warranty hasn't done anything. Mazda keep claiming rock chip, on an 18 month old car that barely gets driven (twice a week), and rust on an angled side of the roof.

Mazda's fix? Made me order touch up paint.

Yes i am living North, in Quebec, but the place where I have rust have nothing to do with road/ice/rocks, those are place never in direct contact with the elements.

Had rust all over the same areas. Sanded, treated, primed, and painted. Used Corrosion X HD in all these areas and on the underbody and inner panels to fight rust....

Just gotta do a proper inspection on every wash to prevent rust from spreading
