I have a 2016 Mazda 3 GT with 18" rims which are the Mazda M008 rims. Accounting for tire weight, I determined that they are a little over 20 LBS each. Not the lightest but 6+ LBS lighter than the stock alloy wheels.

I am thinking of getting a set of 16" alloys for my winter tires. I like the 7 spoke M001 gun metal gray rims. Does anybody know the weight of these wheels? Are they are the same or lighter than the stock steel 16" wheels?

thanks in advance for any info,

:)

I'm not familiar with the M001 16 inch alloys or the M008 18 inch alloys, but using what I do know and what you said and adding a bit of logic to that mix, this line of thought makes sense to me:

Since the 16" factory alloys (that came on my 2015 Mazda3) weigh about 18.6 pounds;

And since the 16" factory steelies weigh about 24 pounds;

And since the OME 18" alloys weight about 26.8 pounds;

And since the M008 18-inch alloys weigh about 20 pounds;

Therefore, it stands to reason that the M001 16-inch alloys will weigh considerably less than the 16-inch factory steel wheels and should weight less than the stock 16-inch alloys as well. Indeed, they should weigh considerably less than any of the others.

No?
